Started the car this frosty morning, and the Columbus unit decided to flick through as many radio station as it could. It seemed to think the screen was being touched. I turned off and back on again and it did it again for a while then seemed Ok. Anyone else experienced this?

Looking to buy some of these to change all the internal lights, just a few questions. Did you use these in the boot? Do they need to be connected with the right polarity? Are any resistors required?

I also had the stalks changed at a routine service. Now the rear wiper is not working from the stalk and I have a nice squeaky steering column! Back to the dealers next week. I would go with the ACC stalk being fitted incorrectly.

No problems as yet. Been in for 6 months. When I collected it from the dealer I was not the only one to have bought one. I thought is was more a Skoda cost cutting exercise, I am pretty sure the Golf GTI has got the insulation, so same engine should be fine, unless someone knows different?

The Maxidot can't display text messages and I don't think you would want to be reading text messages anyway while your driving! If you use the Headphone SMS app from the PlayStore you will have your messages read out without a problem. Works very well a bit confusing when it reads out a number. (When you get one with a number in it you will know what I mean).Also be careful who is in the car with you as all messages are read out aload!

The love or hate sound generator. (Now I have turned mine down to 50% its great only hear it in sport mode.)

I have coded mine with both bulbs on for cornering, but maybe this is wrong. On my golf mk7 the cornering fogs only use one of the two bulbs. I will check the adaptations on the golf and might change the settings on the octavia to match.

I find this one works every time, Headphone SMS. No problems just remember all incoming texts are read out to all occupents of the car!

Yes I only get the Traffic sign recognition restricted error, no other errors and only the once per start up. Before the coding I couldn't get the Columbus the show the traffic signs on the maxidot anyway, so maybe the error is to do with that more than the new coding? Happy to live with it at the moment just getting the signs from the camera and not satnav and camera. If I do need to disable it was the original setting for this (The only one I didn't make a note of): Controller A5 (Front / front view camera) 07 - Coding Byte 1 Bit 0 Enable - "01 traffic sign recognition (FTE) active" Thanks

Thanks andyvee and Neily03 for your comments, I had'nt noticed the Vehicle status error, I will take a look tomorrow does that error go if you disable traffic signs in maxi dot from the infotainment system? If so I might just disable for now just in case the steering column warning is needed legitimately at some point.

That Controller A5 is now sorted checked the settings and I handt changed it - all displaying fine but I do get the same error as Neily03, again only the once not long after starting up. Does anyone else have this error and did you resolve it?Bit new to this coding lark but all seems to be coming together now, thanks to the advice on this forum.

I am having a few problems with this coding, can anyone help with the section Controller A5 are the settings as per the screen shot? Any clarification would be helpful. Thanks

Followed the instructions to unplug the generator and yes it is a bit tight to get you hand in the remove the plug, but all done now. Just a few grazed knuckles! It is now a joy to put in sport mode without the artificial sound. Just waiting for the sound insulation for the bonnet and then it will be even more quite, possibly?

Has anyone fitted the sound insulation to a VRS tsi? If so was the sound reduction noticable in the car.It would be good to fit this after I disable the sound generator.
