  1. Try www.mytomtomgo.com a useful forum for all things TomTom (not just the 'Go' units) and independent of the TomTom company.
  2. Ooops, you caught me using old-Skoda terminology... I put down 'Comfort', but of course they call it Ambiente now. Anyway, the er... Ambiente I am in now has exactly the same seat adjustments as my Elegance (height adjustable driver and passenger seats with lumbar support), so I don't think it has anything to do with adjustment. The 'firmness' is just different. You finding the Elegance seats v.comfortable strengthens my mind to quiz the dealer about the problems I have. Thanks for the input.
  3. I have an Elegance Octavia II and often find the drivers seat to become uncomfortable, requiring frequent adjustment of the seat or the way I sit on it. I think the problem relates to pressure point(s) build-up. I do a lot of long journeys. Now, some muppet in a 4x4 rear ended my car and while it's being fixed I have been given a Comfort Octavia II as a courtesy car, and guess what, I don't seem to have anywhere near as much discomfort. The lateral supports side/thigh seem to have more give in them, but still support... When I give the Comfort back I'll be asking the dealer to check the drivers seat on my Elegance, but I wonder whether seat composition is actually different across the grades.
  4. Recieved newsletter from local dealer advertising Superb version, so assume will go on sale soon. 5. Just noticed a thread already exists on this topic here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25211 Apologies to the author for not spotting it earlier ;-) Will copy my picture links to that original thread.
  6. My local Skoda dealer sent me a newsletter which included a piece about a new special edition Superb being launched to celebrate 100 years of Skoda... some subsequent research led me me to these pictures: (dealer did not mention the Fabia or Octavia versions) Superb Edition 100 http://www.skoda-auto.com/cze/model/actions/displayImage.htm?RID={151E8086-6D6C-4F24-95F5-C95AACB6A728}&IID={FFBE7680-B477-41A6-8231-374DED4F9BA7}&PS=800 Octavia Edition 100 http://www.skoda-auto.com/cze/model/actions/displayImage.htm?RID={C45E9510-C963-47B8-860C-16F23394B197}&IID={8C6A81EA-D269-4580-BC0B-92E7A672945E}&PS=800 Fabia Edition 100 http://www.skoda-auto.com/cze/model/actions/displayImage.htm?RID={4FDB4F69-C48F-46AA-A925-A2448525CE45}&IID={59FCCB00-363F-43D1-8F1A-7087D22054D0}&PS=800
  7. Have to agree with JD. This is no joke. :thumbdwn: There's plenty of things to poke fun at in this world... the threat and act of terrorism should not be one of them.
  8. Thanks. If you like the avatar... you're going to love the link.
  9. WARNING: is just a tad violent (in a cartoon kind a way... ) so if you have a nervous disposition best skip on by. http://www.doodie.com/boss_flash_animation.php Make take a while to load, so be patient. Worth the wait.
  10. Hi, This could be an internal 'leak' resulting from the air con unit drainage being blocked and the condensed water (which you normally see in a pool under the car when you park) finding it's way into the footwell through the footwell air vents. Had the same problem on my old Superb, except in that case the water appeared in rear passenger footwell (probably because I parked on a slope). Have also seen reported as a problem with the VW Passat. Hope this helps.
  11. Did you see this thread already.... http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t26598-.html I have sports suspension and road noise can be very loud, but it really depends on the road surface. So far I would say road noise is NOT a significant issue on 70% of the roads I've used (and I use all types frequently). In my opinion handling is improved (depending on your driving style I guess) and on balance I would have the sports suspension again. One thing I would say though is... if your going for the estate, be aware that most estates are 'boomier' inside than the hatch equivalent because of the increase interior volume. So try and do your testing in the estate if that's what your going for...
  12. Hi, I have the multi function wheel; it comprises of 8 buttons as follows: 1 & 2: fast forward/back buttons used for manual tuning of radio; searching within a CD track 3: Stereo mute 4: Multifunction wheel button lights on/off (looks cool with the lights on at night!) 5 & 6: move forward/back between radio preset stations and CD tracks 7 & 8: increase/decrease stereo volume (can also be used to adjust levels in advanced stereo menus e.g. bass, treble etc) Have to admit I had expected it to control the cruise control too, like on my old Superb, but unfortunately it doesn't (cc is on indicator stalk - still dead easy to use though). Is it worth the extra? Well I use it as it means I controlling the stereo is less of a distraction if you do. Consider it a safety benefit first and a comfort benefit second. Hope that helps!
  13. Thanks folks, :thumbup:guess I don't need to go and berate the dealer then! Still intrigued what goes in the storage thingy...
