  1. Don't mean to butt in here fellas but can we try and stay on topic?
  2. thanks for the input guys, ive decided against the golf, because theyre too common, and getting too 'barry' for my tastes. The hunt starts now so ill keep you updated, id also be really grateful if anybody happens across a vRS at this kind of money to give me a shout
  3. Would it be unreasonable to assume i could get a vRS for under
  4. lol indeed, mums and anything computer related = not a good mix. I havent looked into the anniversary golf insurance wise as i've never really considered it. Ill keep you updated on how i get on with quotes etc. Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
  5. She told me that the your mum mentioned her son ran briskoda, i told her that id signed up yesterday and she said that your mum had said that your name was Ian, so i saw your sig and there you have it It'd be the 150bhp, i think he 180 is the anniversary edition, which are holding their value all too well unfortunately :(
  6. Hey there, This might sound strange, but i beleive my stepmum met your mum at some sort of class? She has an Impreza WRX type RA?
  7. isnt it classed as a saloon?
  8. Aye, 16D if i rmemeber right? The punto is 14, as is the golf. But with the punto being a hatchback, and easier to nick etc. im hoping that there wont be that much of an increase. I dont think the insurance group numbers mean as much as they used to, i think they take the car itself into account a lot more now.
  9. Yeah, the cars great fun,(mines midnight blue too lol) it's just a little too brittle. I want something a bit bigger and more comfortable. Im also keen on the tuning potential of the vRS engine, that's why the 2nd choice is the mk4. GTI 20vT
  10. cool, i may come down and have a look, depending on if i get my turbo pipe fixed in time! Has anybody got any ideas on the insurance side of things?
  11. ah right, thats good power for a diesel! Yeah not too far away
  12. i'm not really keen on the fabia, sorry mate. Which engine does it use? Im from near blackburn.
  13. it might help haha. I know that the Octavia has more power and equipment as standard, but the golf is 2 insurance groups lower. It's all down to insurance really, as i'm only going to be 20 in October, with 2 years NCB. Ive been told by one or two people there's a chance that the Skoda may cost me even less than the punto to insure (the punto is grp. 14) because of security factors, and the fact that its a saloon etc. any thoughts on this?
  14. Greetings, Im Dan from Lancashire, i currently own a 1995 standard Punto GT Turbo. I'm looking into getting either an Octavia vRS, or a Golf GTi Mk.4 1.8T, the Octavia being my first choice. Hope to speak to you all soon! Dan
