  1. Hi, future Superb owner here (170hp/DSG/17"/xenon), I'm worried about the squeeks from the doors when riding bumpy roads, are this a common problem? Can it be solved other than with wd40 on the rubber door seals? Also I've heard numerous complaints about the DSG keeping it down to 1300-1400rpm while driving in city (in D mode) and that causing annoying vibrations (that is what I look for to get rid of like in my Octavia 105hp/PD/m5). Thanks
  2. I was looking for shock like another car hits mine while parked or the thief knocks on a tire to see if the car has alarm (I have now and it blirps once if you kick a tire or punch the car, or stay very close, it has two settings for shock and perimeter)
  3. Hi all and Happy New Year! I was wondering if you'd recommend the factory alarm over an aftermarket canbus alarm (on the car's own remote) like Viper 39xx? The factory alarm doesn't have shock or outside perimeter sensors. Can the factory alarm be controlled from the maxidot to close windows when keeping pressed the close button on the remote? Or else?
  4. Hi guys, I need your help. I found a 2010 Superb diesel 170bhp (my fav) & DSG (fav too), from France, its the base trim level Active (similar to like S in UK), 16" alloy, 4 spoke leather steering wheel, leather gear and handbreak levers, Swing cdplayer, no heated seats, no xenon, parking sensor only on the rear. Price is EUR 14000 (GBP 11350), mileage is 100 th.km. This is below the average price for a 2009-2010 used Superb, most of which have better trim but nevertheless is a good price I say given the engine&DSG. Now, my concern is ok, the car works, there isn't any noises, any errors on the VAG test. What could be unexpected so in one year or such I'll have a big (negative) surprise and smth breaks (or it's there broken and hidden) so I'll end up paying up to a new Superb price? What should I look for? What should I worry for? DSG mechatronic problems? ECU problems? Engine problems? It's a 2 year old car with an average mileage (if it's true), should problems arrived they should have been resolved on guarantee. Is this very suspicious or is a french guy so fed up with the Superb after the guarantee (2yr), or the car was too big for him to sell it for EUR 10000 (GBP 8100)? Or this is a good offer and I should go for it. And risk maybe what as hidden problems? Thanks very much, please answer asap
  5. Hi! Regarding bulbs. I want to change the small bulb near the yellow bulb on my front headlight. It's the one for the first light (before the drive light), dont know the english term for it. I removed the headlight to have easier acces, located the bulb but it doesnt come out, it has some plastic things that probably must be squeezed, but i tried in every way it doesnt come out. What else should I try to get it out? Thanks
  6. Hi. My O2 has 57th km. In August during a long trip outside the country the yellow oil pressure appeared. I stopped on the highway and bought the best oil for diesel, that is the 5w-40 Shell Helix Ultra - fully synthetic. Only now I see that it's 505.00 instead of 505.01. I put around 300ml inside. My oil is Aral Tronic 431 (505.01). Should I now rush to the service and change the oil? I will go again for a 3200km trip, so some guys on other forum worried me 505.00 and 505.01 are not at all compatible and that means trouble. What should I do? Thanks
  7. Guys, I guess the lamp broke by itself. The car is fine, alarm good, doors locking. @gaff .. if I leave a door open or the trunk the alarm bleeps more than once
  8. The car sat in the sun many times and in sub zero temperatures, down to minus 20 in winters, but the plastic can crack but not broke away on its own. But again if somebody were to broke in the car they can't do anything by tampering with the light, somebody from where I have installed the alarm told me this would be foolish.
  9. I really hope that is the case, but still I can't figure how that piece to have failed after just 3 years, it's nothing that moves (or is it moving along with the body of the car?). It's not normal anyway - but if it's only a small defect I will not worry. The bad thing would be if my car is unprotected from burglars.
  10. No kids here, no one to pull the light like crazy to break it from the screws. I had some stuff in the glove box, nothing missing, very odd that's is why I'm stupefied and the only explanation I have that they were professionals looking to take the whole car not just gimmicks from the glove box. Isn't the chip from the original hey safe? What would they want with the light? Can a short circuit there can override something and the car would start with a fake key? I moved the car, so the car works fine.
  11. I found this morning the light lamp in the middle of the ceiling (the back lamp) broken (the two screws that keeps the lamp are broken) and the lamp hanging from the ceiling. I can't believe the lamp was defective from the start (the car is manufactured in October 2005) and right now it just happened to drop while standing overnight in the parking. Can it be that somebody entered the car disabling the alarm (??) which is a pretty good one also with motion sensor but if they had the newest RF tool and the alarm was shut down then all it takes is to start the car - and I know O2 has the chip in the key to make ignition work. Is there a system to tamper with the lock mechanism using the ceiling lamp in the O2? Please tell me should I buy a newer alarm? Thanks
