I just went out to the shed and couldn't find the one I thought I had. I think I threw it out, gutted.

Cheers - not necessary to do that in my case. 
Hoping once I stick the battery back in the remote fob will simply work properly again, and I can replace the fuse for the alarm siren, as the owner took it out due to having to use the key in the lock to open/close.
