I got a U281 yesterday for my 06 Fabia VRS and it works fine, picked up my fault code and I was able to get rid of the check engine warning light. Did you plug it in with the engine off and then turn the ignition key round to the last position before the starter kicks in?

Replacement of front windscreen washer pump
guy_gadbois replied to Clunkclick's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
It's an easy DIY job, I did mine with an ebay pattern part (about £8) and it has been fine since. No need to take the bumper off as you can access the pump from the nearside front wheel arch -

Will this fail the MOT? [PIC]
guy_gadbois replied to guy_gadbois's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
OK cheers guys, I got some new ones off ebay as the old ones were quite grotty -
Hi, i've got the MOT coming up and was wondering if this damage to my front plate would fail it...Anyone hazard a guess? Cheers

I had this on mine. After taking the bottle out and cleaning everything up it turned out it was leaking from the pump. I got a replacement pattern part of ebay for about £9 and it has been fine since

I just put up with it too. I've found that E-cloth window cleaners are pretty good at clearing most of the water off then using the aircon to finish it off

Mine started leaking last year, I thought the washer bottle had split in the cold weather. I took it out and it was fine. It transpired the pump itself had started leaking so I fitted a replacement pattern part and have had no problems since! Got mine here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-OCTAVIA-WASHER-PUMP-WINDSCREEN-REAR-/170590273183?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b7f8fe9f#ht_596wt_1110

Clean Fabia + new SLR camera = arty photos
guy_gadbois replied to theandywaite's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Hoods are probably better at protecting the front element than using cheap UV filters. Have a look on eBay - managed to get a genuine canon hood for my 28mm f1.8 for £2! -

Nice pics buddy. Have a look at the 50mm f1.8 lens - cheap to buy and cheap build quality wise but good optics.. -
Glad you walked away Ok from this.. Wasn't there someone else on here who did pretty much the same thing avoiding a rabbit? If I'm pressing on and there is a small fluffy animal on the road it will get hit as I won't risk loosing control and ending up in the situation above. Much better to have to buy a new bumper/radiator etc than risk rolling into a tree off the road. I'd recommend to anyone to buy a copy of "RoadCraft" and learn the system of car control: stay safe and make good progress

Been asked to post up some more pics of the UV car shades

Hi, the 2000-05 model will fit, something like ebay item 250485708567. It has been a while since I looked so I don't know if there is a better connection solution now which plugs into the charger port rather than the 3.5mm jack

Give Brentacre a try, I spent quite a while looking around and they were the best with the mods listed below. I paid £450 and they said it would be another £100 if I wanted to add a stage 1 remap onto it although i'm happy with the standard map. I'm an advanced driver too - I think they knocked off about £30 because of it..

I've got an 06 with 24000 on it, bought it in Sept 08 with 11000
