  1. Got an 04 vRS lowered 40mm all round, all polly bushes. Currently run 205/40/17 with the octy vRS alloys. My question is, can i fit 215/40/17 tyres without scrubbing? Want a slightly bigger profile as the slightest bump in the road is a loud bang as though there's no air in them, but i check the pressures all the time and they're fine. thanks Smithy
  2. like the grill! Badge might look good in black n grey.
  3. Brun, did you used to be a member on the RTOC forums few years back? Used to own an r5 gtt i recognise your name.
  4. what would you be looking at ££ wise to get a new standard turbo for the vRS and has anyone had their's reconditioned, like new internals? Just curious of the price. Although mine is fine (Touch Wood), really want to spend as little as i can on the car from now on. cheers
  5. got the fabia vrs with champiro GT's all round i expected them to be crap but really impressed. Cheap as well 17/40/205. Mine are just about shot so i'm going for a full set of P Zero Nero's lets hope they're worth the extra ££.
  6. At the end of the day you have to realise what the fabia vrs is. It's a nippy sports hatch with average handling and good mpg. Whats the point in spending all that money on modifying one to try and make it something it isn't. Buy an evo and modify that, that way your making a really fast and great handling car seriously fast. I bought a fabia vrs to run to work and back as its 400 miles a week. I remapped the fabia, suspension and exhaust and thats it. Unless you have lots of miles to cover week to week then like the others say, buy a fast petrol car like an evo, or TVR which have incredible handling even in standard trim. My mate picked up an evo6 rallyart uk verison 310bhp for 8,000 with 60k on the clock and the thing drives like its on rails.
  7. Yeah thats what i'll do i think, cheers. I've just spent ££££'s on rebuilding my tvr engine as it span a big end bearing. so cash is tighter than a ducks **** at the moment.
  8. Seems i could only get a bit more torque then, is it worth the £££'s on the remap? Probably not. Least i wont have to protect the clutch anymore just the tyres. cheers for the responses.
  9. Would be nice! (your talking probs 2k ish there not including the clutch, am I right??), but this is my second car that i only really use to do the 450 miles to work a week, can't really justify spending that cash on a skoda deisel.
  10. cheers. What is achievable on the standard turbo just out of interest?
  11. My clutch/fly-wheel is slipping like a MF and am going for the uprated clutch v shortly. With the standard turbo and intercooler what power/torque is achievable and reliable?Currently running 174/320PD160 intakePiperX filterFull turbo back Milltec system with De-cat.Is it worth getting it remapped again after the clutch change?thanks.Smithy.
  12. Nice car, test drove one couple of years ago, handles well, but the engines are gutless. There's no way of saying this without sounding a tit, but they're just too slow imho.
  13. Mines remapped, i always put ultimate or v power in, however this is only for peice of mind as i found no difference at all in the feel or mpg. The thing i find makes the most difference is the outside temperature and the moisture levels in the air. I used to run a 480hp cossie and a rolling road print out was nearly 40 ft lbs difference in an air temp of 2 degrees over an air temp of 17 degrees.
  14. Mine pulls to the left and i've just had new powerflex and solid cupra bushes fitted along with some other suspension stuff, i put a thread up about it a while back and alot of people said they had the same issue. I had the tracking checked and it was fine so i wouldn't worry about it.
  15. awesome gti do a 8000k HID kit. I have it fitted and it's worth every penny.
