  1. Is there still demand for a 2017 calendar? I've not been around here much this year but am aware I'd have normally started the process by now. Is there a need? Would people still buy copies and thus shall i get started or are people not that bother this time around?
  2. Indeed i do. Still with us after another 14k miles since i last updated the thread; but the thread says it all really. With the lack of a similar engined mk2 Fabia it was the logical choice after my mk1 VRS was written off. It's done everything I expect of it admirably well. It returns decent economy with purposeful performance, economy down but performance up since the tuining box. It's a nice place to be on a journey; and to my eye is the best looking of this gen Ibiza bar the Cupra & Bocanegra. That said it isn't that refined inside with a lot of road noise being transmitted into the cabin, although i have run winter tyres all yeasr. The suspension is pretty crashy being on par with the lowered, stiffened, rolling-on-18s of the wife's A3 S-Line, The radio is a bit all over the place - reception seems poor and the ergonomics of the menus is a bit all over the place Although I've plugged my ipod in to the standard aux in socket, switched it to AUX IN mode and left well alone. Mechanically I've not had a single issue. It's had a minor and major service including cambelt and needed nothing else. As with most VAG cars the geometry seems pretty fickle as I've had it tracked 3 times and full alignment once and dead ahead is still a few degrees off centre on the steering wheel. That said I hit a a pot hole which was deep enough to bend the alloy earlier in the year, and whilst the garage found nothing when it was serviced i'm pretty sure there may a slight underlying suspension issue, so maybe i can't lay the blame on the car there. Only real problem I find is it's just not that exciting. I always feel it's the perfect second car. Something that commutes well, gives decent economy and is just the right side of quick be be enjoyable everyday, but you'd be happy in the knowledge there's something with a bit more fire in it's belly waiting for the weekend to roll around.

Ideally you'll want a donor Fabia/Ibiza/Polo seat as your removed seats will be worth a load more complete than if you steal the metalwork from underneath Once you have the seat out you need to take all the plastic trim off (normally screwed on underneath), and remove he back rest The foam and material is then held on by tension using a plastic bead on the edge of the material secured under the metal work. Ease the bead out and the whole lot will lift off leaving you with just the metal work You can then put the Octavia foam on the Fabia metalwork and then, screw the octavia backrest to the fabia metalwork and then put the plastic trim back on

  6. I'm enjoying my 2010 FR diesel. It was the logical choice a couple of years back when my mk1 Fabia VRS got written off, and there wasn't a powerful TDI mk2 Fabia. I've not clicked with it as well as i did with said VRS but that might be down to considerably less modifying and making it "my own". It does everything I need it to do though, it's a relatively nice place to be on a journey, the CR engine is great (and the dtuk box gives it some teeth), the economy is brilliant, and (as far as i can see) it's the best looking of all latest gen ibizas (which got softened after 2010) I have to agree with most of the negatives brought up though. The road noise is pretty bad, but that may be the fault of my winter tyres on summer roads. The suspension does seem unforgiveably harsh. I wouldn't say it's overly hard but it doesn't seem to manage very anything well. The wife's A3 S-line with it's lower, harder suspension, 18" wheels, and rubber band tyres rides equally badly. A test drive in a Renault Megane sport with it's hardest available "Cup" suspension felt loads better than either of them - but I guess you get what you pay for. The stereo is indeed all over the place, i think it got improved on later models but the interface in obstructive is the least and down right confusing at times. I've plugged by ipod in, stuck it in AUX mode and have left it alone for 2 years! That said bruv it does go proper loud boooiiii! The arse has fallen out of the prices, but that is a Seat soft point i think. £8500 purchase price 2 and half years and 20,000 miles ago is now more like £4000 to trade in.

  8. Yodel employ "own vehicle "couriers"" as well as owner drivers of their own fleet of vans. Essentially take whatever vehicle you own, pick up parcels, drive it to drop them off, get paid. However i'm trying to force myself to not work through my lunch hour so what better way to spend that hour than browsing through here again. Those of you who are after badges just start a list once you decided and we'll see where it goes

After a Briskoa hiatus I am back as are my custom badge making abilities During my time away the requests have stacked up so makes sense to buk them all together and let everyone benefit from the reduction in price. Running in the same format as all the previous Group Buys from yesteryear the badges are a flexible self-adhesive backed vinyl printed with the chosen design and finished with a clear resin dome to give a pronounced finish and protection and durability. They work equally well stuck over the OEM badge or in place of them. They can also be shrunk down and used as alloy wheel or steering wheel centres too. Pretty much anything goes - solid flat colours to a coloured vinyl are the best finish but full colour designs can be printed to white vinyl. The choice really is yours however a few for inspiration (and if you want any of these designs try to quote what i call them and your colour choice) Retro Retro in Lime Green & Black Autobot Steering whel centre also in lime and black Skoda Motosport Custom Full colour designs (I'd need you to supply "print ready" artwork for something this complex!) Everything is produced to order so you can be unique or have a badge shown in a different colour combo if required. If you're interested start a list in the normal Group Buy fashion along with the sizing you want. As a guide larger badges are about £10-12 and the alloy centres around £6-7 when produced on their own but normally come down to around £6.50 and £4 respectively. Things like extra colours in the design, larger size, international shipping add to the cost but once the quantity is up to a sizeable amount I will discuss with the printer and sort out pricing and everyone will then get a PM to confirm their requirements, the costs there of, delivery details and payment details. Once the quantity gets up to enough to warrant the maximum discount (generally around 100 badges) I shall contact everyone via PM to confirm design, sizing and cost; and to request payment.   12. 5 of these for me and my mates the rest goes on race fees on a purely personal note i'd love a Tuscan but feae 1) it's breakdown (a lot) 2) when it was actually running it's performance would outweight my abilities and kill me (quickly) I'd actually struggle to spend the money. I don't really enjoy driving that fast on the road. there's always too many what if's and other numpty's to worry about. so my money'd go on something nice to tow with and drive daily (Range Rover?), a trailer, a reasonable race car, and all the associated maintence and fees. or probably actually just pay Ginetta to do it all for me and then you get a road legal G40 too http://ginetta.com/racing.php?championship=grdc&tab=info
  13. Neither did she At least on TWD all the people you have to learn are all in one group and in one place. GoT was even worse. 20 "main" characters all in differnet places interacting with different people for different reasons to acheive differnet things, most of whom get 2 minutes per episode as it jumps about all over the place. I get that it works in chapters of a book but it makes for hard wathcing TV That said i can't wait for it to come back in a few weeks time. Here's hoping someone leaks a load of episodes again!
