  1. Just booked my March 14 Citigo in for its first free service next week - insp came up on the display this morning - and was told it will have the steering software update done at the same time. Not had any problems with the steering, or any other part of the car over the last year, other than very dirty back window!!!!
  2. I have been using this warm water method for years just make sure it is near cold otherwise you'll need to call Autoglass! , using de-icer reduces the temperature of the screen through its evaporation and only makes internal condensation worse. I only ever use air on in the winter if it's a particularly damp day with a full car causing the windows to mist up.
  3. Good choice Damo, I thoroughly enjoyed both my Superbs, my last one was a Greenline with 'superb' economy, unfortunately it was not big enough! Sadly Skoda don't yet produce a 7 seater so i now drive an S-Max. However I am mightily impressed with my wives new Citigo SE
  4. yes, the free servicing offer on the 0% Finance offer has now ceased, my dealer told me as such when I collected the Citigo last week.
  5. When I picked up my wives new Citigo last week, which incidentally has the free 3 year servicing, I was surprised that you no longer get a service book. It is now held digitally by Skoda and you get a printout after each service to keep in a service folder.
  6. Finally after a 5 month wait I picked up my wifes Citigo SE this morning ...... WHAT A BRILLIANT CAR!! After driving my Dads seven year old Mercedes C220 Cdi to the garage, I can't believe how much nicer the Citigo is to drive, lighter steering, quieter engine and smoother ride! Took it my wives work for her to see before driving it home, she is very pleased and even more so after finally getting her hands on it this evening.
  7. I'll be joining you Sheppeygirl, my wife takes delivery of her Candy White 5 Dr SE on Monday - just ordered the mud flaps and rubber mats! However I've only known her wash her previous car (Blue Ka) once or twice in the last 10 years so I guess it'll be up to me with the sponge. Mind you my previous car was a white Superb Greenline, now sadly replaced by a silver S-Max, so I'm used to washing white cars. The S-max gets cleaned by some nice East Europeans (and other nationalities at times) once a month.
  8. Hi Prog My wife's SE was also ordered on 8th October but is being built this week, so is not expected for another week or so. My dealer himself suggested waiting for the 14 plate. Can't wait for it to arrive as she's been carless since we sold her 10 year old KA Steve
  9. Autoglym glass cleaner - got rid of mine on the Superb
  10. Having left the Skoda family last year after swapping my Superb 2 Greenline for a Ford S - Max, a decision not taken lightly but driven by the need for more space as a result of more grandchildren arriving, I have now come back! We have decided the change my wifes 10 year old Ka and after experiencing an UP! on holiday this year chose to do the sensible thing and order a 5 door Citigo SE in Candy White for her. The only option ordered is the £50 spare wheel as the SE has far more on it than the Ka had anyway and have taken advantage of the 0% offer with free servicing. Got a decent trade in for the Ka but may be selling it to family friend anyway. It's nice to be back!
  11. If you're using a reputable garage that services your car to VAG specifications, and uses VAG approved parts, and stamps your service book properly then you won't have any problems. I have always used a 'private' garage for cambelt changes as they are much cheaper, provided they use quality parts, and their work is warranted. Like me you have the good old 1.9 engine which is well known by most reputable garages. Using a dealer to change your cambelt (and water pump) is money wasted in my opinion. I only use a dealer where there is a warranty issue, and the only time I have needed that in my ownership of the Greenline was a pressure sensor for the DPF which was hanged without quibble.
  12. or 4 years - I am told by my garage mine is due next year (1.9 Greenline- 52k) Incidentally my service last month cost me half what the dealer charges - and my local garage uses genuine VAG parts and longlife oil. However I am considering going over to annual services rather than variable as my mileage is now only 12k a year and there will be a cost saving in the oil!
  13. I don't think you have the Maxidot display on the S. You have to press the clock set button to the left of the Tacho 3 times, then it will display the time and remaining mileage on the computer display - with the ignition on of course!
  14. I regularly get over 600 miles to a tank on my 1.9 pd 105 Greenline Superb II
  15. I had exactly the same problem with my 2009 Superb in its early days, the solution is to switch off the DRL's, I haven't needed to change a headlight bulb in 18 months and I am using ones from Carrefour (job lot bought on a day trip a couple of years ago when one went in France) - now I've said that one will go today!!!!!!!
