bogeyed

Got one this morning,the instructions say to disconnect the battery before charging but has anyone used it without disconnecting the terminals ,and without damaging anything. If the battery does need disconnecting how would this affect ,say the radio etc when reconnected?

.. a few years back in my Octy Mk 1.........drove over a stone in the road which had fallen from a wall.......wrongly estimated clearance required and ripped sump off !

Hi everyone,first post here but have been following stuff closely. This is my first automatic car of any sort,I chose the DSG transmission but I think I am beginning to regret it. When in D and with foot off gas it creeps forward in a series of little 'bunny hops' -applyin a little gas and it progresses normally. Also I find that in situations where fine control is required eg when creeping out of a junction with poor sight lines it is almost impossible to 'balance'the car like a manual on the clutch. I drove a manual 1.9Tdi today at the dealers and felt more in control not to mention a altogether smoother ride. Beginning to regret buying the DSG box already but could it be faulty or is that how they all are?
