  1. Steering wheel jerk would make sense seeing as it's on all the new Leons, which are due out next month. Stevo
  2. I also read somewhere that with the 2.0 Tdi, you can't tune it up at all. The DSG gearbox can only take so much torque through it, before it falls apart, and the 2.0 TDi isn't far off that limit as standard. Stevo
  3. Cheers guys. Might go for the plastic boot tray as it's only
  4. Has anyone got the plastic boot tray and / or dog restraint system with their Octavia? If so do you have any pics of them, and are they worth the
  5. Cheers for the replies guys - and ta for the link. Stevo
  6. Hi all, Went for a test drive of a 2.0 Tdi on Saturday, as I'm thinking of changing my Seat Leon Cupra for an Octavia in September (Company car). I do have a couple of questions though - some of which I wish I thought of while test driving - others I've looked for answers on here, but can't seem to find any definitive ones. 1. Elegance with leather v L&K model. L&K leather seats are electric with memory, whereas leather provided as an option on Elegance are not. Is that correct? 2. MaxiDot. Can anyone provide me with a picture of what this actually looks like? 3. Audience sound system. I've heard a few comments about it, but is it really any good. On my Leon Cupra, the head unit is run-of-the-mill, but the speakers are pretty good. Is it really worth the upgrade over the "Stream" radio, and even if so - how good is it for a "factory" component? 4. On the hatchback - is it possible to remove the parcel shelf? I have dogs hence why I need a big boot and the ability to remove the parcel shelf. errr - I think that's it for now. Cheers, Stevo
  7. Must admit I looked in the New Octavia brochure last night. Has the 1.9 Tdi PD, 1.9 Tdi DSG, and 2.0 Tdi PD listed in the techinical table, but not the 2.0 Tdi DSG. Anyway, for the 1.9 Tdi the CO2 emissions were 143, whereas for the DSG version they were 162 (Except on another page where it said they were both 143???), and for acceleration and top speed, the non-DSG was something like 11.9 and 119, and the DSG was 12.2 and 117 - so slower on both accounts. Why there was differing information about the CO2 emissions (Important for someone like me considering it as a company car), and why the 2.0 Tdi DSG wasn't listed I don't know (The brochure is from October this year) - but it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the car, when they can't even be consistent in the brochure! (First impressions and all that) Stevo P.S. If you look at the Skoda web site now, the CO2 emissions for the 2.0 Tdi PD are 159, and for the DSG version 172 (Which is pretty high for a diesel). It still worries me though that on the 2.0 Tdi DSG hardly any of the figures are published (Shown as 0), whereas on the 2.0 FSI most of the data is classed as "Data Not Available". Another classic piece of inconsistency. P.P.S Am I being picky?!
  8. So, a little time has passed. What's the opinion on the uprated speakers and sound system? Is it actually any good? To quote an above post it states that there are 4x30 and 4x40 watt speakers, so where/what are the other 4 to make up the 12? Stevo
  9. Hi everyone. My name is Stevo. I currently own a Seat Leon Cupra, and am a member of Seatcupra.net (I'm sure some of you have heard of it!). My Leon is a company car and is due for renewal in September which means in the next 6 months I need to make my mind up about what car I want for the next 4 years. I intend to look at as many cars as possible to get a full view (I love the Leon but wish I researched more as the seats aren't that comfortable on long journeys and make my back ache). However, I do currently have my eye on the new Octavia (2.0 Tdi Elegance), with a bunch of options. This looks like a nice big informative resource, and I've heard good things about this place on seatcupra.net, so I look forward to getting to know some of you in due course. Right, I'm off now to read what I can find on here about the new Octavia! Stevo
