lots having to top up between services, every couple of months I guess

my cel light comes on at approx 3000rpm or just above, (octavia 1.9 '04). The next day the light has sometimes gone but not always, But as soon as I hit the 3000rpm mark its back. Any ideas?. A garage thinks it is to do with the egr valve, which they have now cleaned out twice. Now thinking about adding a catch can and delete pipe.

would that be a catch can instead of power pipe or both? Is there any guides on here on how to fit them? Total novice at this sort of thing. Have got poor acceleration and car seems to knock at about 3000rpm, would this be egr valve related. Also large cloud of smoke when starting. Thanks for all the help so far.

Do you think removing it for one of the power pipe things would be a better option.

Does £248 pound sound fair for supply and fit of EGR valve on a Octavia Estate 04?. How easy is it to replace yourself? Is it just a case of removing it and fitting new one or does it require some setting up with computer etc.

Have managed to brake off the little knobly bit on the washer at the rear on the high line brake, does anyone know what the part no. for this is or were I can get one. The jet of water now squirts onto the road and not the window.

can anyone point me in the right direction for the cage mod, exactly what is involved and where the connectors are located. Pictures would be helpful. Would this help on my 04 octavia estate.

huge thanks to those who said check bulbs, coil light was flashing so checked bulbs. Both were out, changed bulbs no flashing light now. Saving me lots of time and money at a Skoda dealer, lol

does the brake light problem exist on 04 octavia diesel estates

help needed, i have an 04 plate octavia estate which i bought when it was 6 months old. About 2 years ago a new turbo was fitted under warranty, symtoms of loss of power but would then be ok fow a while if engine was turned off. Same problem has now occured again and have been told i require a new turbo again by skoda. overboost error code. I cant believe i need to have a third turbo. Could someone suggest a place in the Norwich area I could get a second opinion from thanks in advance
