  1. Often referred to as Volkswagen RNS 510 Regensburg syndromeHome of Volkswagen I believe
  2. My Yeti is a year old tomorrow, 20K came up on the mileometer this morning. I have enjoyed every minute of driving it. At 9K mies I changed the tyres to Goodyear all seasons contemplating a wintery trip to the Lake District . Although I did not have the chance to try out in the snow, I am pleased with the wear and grip afforded by these tyres. The fuel consumption is quite pleasing as is th performance and the DSG box. My only complaint: The Columbus unit when it does a dynamic re-route seems to get stuck in a verbal merry-go-round constantly re-routing and telling me. A stop/restart of navigation clears the problem. Small price to pay for a brilliant car.
  3. Does anyone know whether the larger discs fitted to the [old] 170 are fitted to the [new] 150 - my money says not ...........

  5. If you use the car configurator it does not come up as an option - some I am wondering whether you are "using" it corrrectly, or xpecting something different - I find when I come to a halt a hard press of the brake pedal generally allows me plently of time to move my foot from brake to accelerator (ie HHold active) - it does not hold the car if you take your foot of the accelerator you must apply the brake again to activate it or feather the throttle. Just a thought.
  6. It is needed with DSG (imho and if you are not a left foot braker) as it does not work like a conventional auto that will hold you on an incline. The clutches disengage (I believe to save wear) when the brakes are applied and the car has stopped. Moving from brake to accelerator means the clutches have to re-engage causing a momentary loss of motion to the drivetrain and roll-back occurs. I had to purchase HHold on my 170 DSG L&K but the next brochure it was standard with the inevitable cost increase added. Having owned DSG cars with and without HHold I would always advocate getting it. As for whether it is standard on a Monte Carlo with DSG I cannot help - shame if it isn't there as I find it very useful.
  7. After 13,062 miles just completed my best brim to brim figures in my 170 DSG 4x4 of over 47 mpg for 510 miles driving.
  8. Pilkington unt to be fitted Friday - thanks for the reminder with regards to wipers - good call .
  9. Wanting to understand availability [in stock, had to wait, still waiting] , how long it took, problems etc.,
  10. I may have got this wrong, but didn't the FL Yeti also add bay parking to the Park Assist function, the pre FL offering only parallel parking on cars fitted with this feature.
  11. Just returned from a one week stay in Ambleside. Boy, is the YETI a popular car up there. There were three within 50 metres of the cottage I was staying in and plenty seen around the town, Kendal and Windermere. The cottage owner next door was a keen YETI owner and was interested in the differences between his pre facelift and mine. What a beautiful area. 312 miles each way, two up with luggage and driving at a steady 75mph on the motorways, including the M6 toll road resulted in an average touching 40mpg which is not bad really I suppose.
  12. Thanks all for reponses, Skoda Recovery on their way. Most probably go and 1) get a bigger battery fitted and 2) disconnect camera overnight whilst in garage. Never had this problem with prior two Superbs. I am sure it doesn't help the initial battery load having headlights on during start process when lights in Auto mode. Off to the Lake District tomorrow (from SE London) so made me slihtly nervous now.
  13. Today, jumped in the car and it failed to start with a flat battery. The car has been used very little the last ten days and I do have a camera in the car that is permanently on. I usually do 500-700 miles a week so the car usually has a good run to recharge the battery. My question is: Can I fit a bigger battery and what would people recommend (besides disconnecting the camera when stopped) ?
  14. Not quite a vRS, but I changed in July 2014 from a V6 3.6 4x4 DSG Superb to a 170CR Yeti Outdoor 4x4 DSG. The Yeti is certainly noisier although a recent tyre change (4Seasons Goodyear) has quietened the noise a little. i like the torque of the CR diesel engines but I do miss the top end power. It takes a long time to get to optimal running temp in the winter. The electric seat adjustment was a must for me to get a really comfortable driving position (6' 4" [1.93 Metres] and bad back etc.,) Love being able to slide in/out of seat rather than stooping down etc., Enjoying the improved economy
  15. I find that there is at least a 5 mpg difference between 60 and 70 mph. I still cannot grumble at the economy of my DSG equipped 170 CR Diesel, but I do drive 90 % of my time on A/M roads at 70 mph max. I do find wet weather to be the worst time for good fuel consumption, but I suppose, lights, aircon, wipers etc., all add to draw power and ruin consumption figures.
