  1. Nice! Just waiting on our 4th Yeti which will also coincidentally be a magnetic brown L&K. Just looking at the tailpipes on yours....do you have the chrome tailpipe finishers fitted or is this the standard finish? @AllanDJ did mention the standard tips were reasonably shiny. If this is the case I won't bother ordering and save myself £25.
  2. Waiting for our magnetic brown 1.4 to arrive next week. From the YouTube video and pics I can find I don't think we'll be disappointed. Looks like it suits the Yeti. Will be sure to post some pics when it arrives.
  3. Haha yeah a bit on the tall side
  4. I was active on here waaaay back around 2011 when we ordered our first car which was a 1.2 TSI SE in Candy White with panoramic roof. Since that one we then owned a late 2012 Silver 1.2 SE and then in 2015 we bought another white 1.2 but moved up a grade to the Elegance spec. I thought we had bought our last Yeti but an incredibly tempting personal contract hire option sees us ordering a fourth one. This one is a Magnetic Brown L&K which will be our first proper 4x4 and will also give us a hefty power increase of around 45bhp with the 1.4 TSI 150PS engine. Very much looking forward to having another panoramic roof but this time this time hopefully one without any issues. Will also be interested to see what difference the extra 45 bhp of will make to the all the 1.2's we've owned.
  5. Oh that will be being removed when I get home from work tonight. I think the 'idea' is that it's meant to be like your rear registration plate. Clever, eh? Both our last Yeti's had the discreet Briskoda window sticker and that'll be the case with this one as well. But I can let them off with the god awful window sticker seeing they saved me around £3k and still provided a new car experience when picking it up.
  6. Ours is Candy White and self financed. We considered a PCP for the first time when we looked at the Tiguan but this was mainly to unlock the extra discount VW were offering. PCP deals don't work for us but I can see why they are so popular. Check out my 'Return of the Snow Monster' topic to see us taking delivery of our car last night. They had white, black and metallic grey Yeti's available. Not sure if this is still the case though. Good luck!
  7. As many of you will be aware if you read my 'No More Snow Monster' post...http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/372167-no-more-snow-monster/ I had put a deposit on a new VW Tiguan R-LIne 4WD Diesel and sold our trusty second 1.2 TSI SE to a local independent dealer. Then VW the 'Dieselgate' crisis hit and although the Tiguan would have had an EU 6 compliant engine we decided against the purchase as too many questions at that point were still to be answered. Anyhow that's all been covered in the previous post. Moving on. We went down to pick up our delivery mileage 1.2 TSI Yeti Elegance from Volkswagen Rutherglen and I was very pleasantly surprised to see they had gone to the effort of bringing it into the showroom for us. This made it feel like the same kind of event that we would have had, had we bought the Tiguan. We didn't even get this treatment from Skoda when we bought our Yeti from them! I really have been impressed with the way they have handled what was a potentially difficult situation and turned it round into a positive customer experience. So top marks to Volkswagen Rutherglen and Lesley Anne who dealt with us throughout. 10/10!!!! Some pics of a very happy family taking delivery of our new Snow Monster last night.. https://flic.kr/p/yXCWdQ
  8. We have just bought one of the delivery mileage 1.2 TSI Elegance spec cars from Volkswagen Rurtherglen. I think the Arnold Clark group bought a batch of cars from Skoda in May and pre-registered them. They are now selling them off so as long as you are not bothered about your car being pre-registered it's an exceptional deal. We checked with our local Skoda dealer and even with them offering a crazy discount as they called it if we took a car that was coming in the following week they were still £3K off. Or you could save yourself a few thousand and buy our last car we sold to a local dealer. I can honestly say that we sold it without a single fault and it had been recently serviced by Skoda and had two new front tyres fitted. Either way best of luck finding a car. http://www.stephen-hannahcars.co.uk/used-cars/skoda-yeti-1-2-tsi-se-5dr-east-kilbride-201509227140327
  9. Cheers! Our Tiguan was EU6 compliant but who's to say those engines won't be implicated in some way or other in the future? Although to be honest our biggest fear was just that VW diesels in general would get a bad reputation for a few years at the very least and we would take a big hit when we came to sell. We have done so well depreciation wise with both our Yetis because of the high demand that we didn't want to blow what we have built up over the last few years on what would be a high risk purchase for us. It's that reason that will keep buyers like us away from Volkswagen diesels. People purchasing cars on a PCP might not be so concerned if they plan to just walk away anyway.
  10. I've never taken out a PCP but yes I'm sure you would have a guaranteed future value against your car. Although whether that value would be high enough to reassure you might be a different matter.
  11. Yeah? Wouldn't be the first time I've missed something. Enlighten me.
  12. Nearly ten days ago I posted that I was replacing our second Yeti with a Volkswagen Tiguan R-line. This would have been my first ever diesel engined car in over twenty five years of motoring and countless cars. The VW diesel scandal/crisis very quickly put an end to that. My wife and I, worried about how our car would be affected by potential recalls and an increase in depreciation withdrew from the deal for our new Tiguan. Our VW dealer was very fair with us and did there very best to convince us that everything would be fine and even gave us an R-Line demo home for the weekend as we had sold our Yeti in preparation for the new car a few days earlier. But we made our mind up that no matter how good the deal was now was not a good time to be buying a VW diesel or any diesel for that matter unless you can really justify the miles. We couldn't. So we very quickly scoured the market for options to consider for a replacement family car given we wanted a change. But try as we might we just couldn't get away from the fact that if we wanted to stick with an SUV type car that was affordable to buy and run then the stand out choice was the Yeti. When you added in the delivery mileage deal that was available on an Elegance spec 1.2 TSI then we had no choice but to buy ourselves our third Yeti. We looked about and the price we were paying for a very high spec R-Line with a 150 bhp diesel engine and 4WD was extremely tempting when stacked against options like H-RV's, CX-3's etc. £27K for a top spec HR-V...seriously? £23K for a very stylish but a completely impractical CX-3? Or around £16K for a high spec delivery mileage Yeti? I was so disappointed with the HR-V especially. Having owned two Honda Jazz's previously I had been tracking the development and launch of this car. But either I'm out of touch with the price of cars or Honda and a few other manufacturers are over pricing cars in the booming SUV sector. So very much looking forward to picking up our new Yeti tomorrow night. It might not be an R-Line but with the addition of the aluminium pedal and sill cover set and the removal of the unattractive bronze dash insert for a piano black one. We will have a car that is wholly fit for purpose and have spent £8k less than on the Tiguan with a much improved spec to our previous SE's. Mental I don't know why I ever thought about any other deal. Oh and the facelift is starting to grow on me now as well. When something just makes so much sense I wonder why.
  13. Ah well if you insist. Our new family car ☺️
  14. Yeah Tony was over £5k off which basically brought it into line with a drive the deal price and the same price as a six month old one we looked at with 3k miles on it. Same with the run out deal on the Yeti which was around £4K off but that was against a pre-reg car so not quite as good as the VW deal.
