  1. Agree definitely too low for the average person and a pain on long motorway journeys. Octavia arm rest was fine.
  2. My SE has it, UK car bought last September
  3. My spare tyre has the 50 mph yellow sticker but it has a 91H speed rating (130mph) the other tyres are Michelin 205/55 R16 91V
  4. Mine has 195/65 R15 Continental spare.
  5. My SE came with a full size spare, not checked the exact spec. Will have a look when it's daylight and not raining. (That doesn't happen very often nowadays)
  6. Just been out to check it was 3.0 bar all round, reduced it to 2.4 bar, won't be going on a motorway for a while so don't know if I'll see the difference until then
  7. I think you only get driving profiles with different steering weighting on the 1.5 engine
  8. Had my Scala for a month now. I can't compare it to a Rapid as my two previous cars were Octavias. So having downsized I knew I was getting a slower car. I like the design, it's much easier to park in town. Fuel economy better, I got 57mpg on a motorway run. Around town its great, on motorway okay, on twisty country roads up and down hills it struggles. My main gripes are the steering feels too light with almost no feedback, rear view mirror isn't good. At high speed it doesn't feel as stable as an Octavia.
  9. Ah that kind of works, in that you can disable the vibrate alert and that stays off. Lane assist still comes on every time I start the car but it is much less annoying.
  10. I find the lane assist to be very annoying when it kicks in and I'm not on a motorway. I know it's only a few steering wheel button presses to disable it but doing every time you start the car is getting old. I can't find a menu option to leave it in off mode.
  11. This has happened to me this morning :( It carried on playing music and it responded to touch inputs. Tried turning on/off a few times hasn't fixed it. Feels like a software problem to me or display driver needs a reset. I'm wondering if I should disconnect the battery to make it "reboot". Will have another look at lunchtime. (1 year old Octy Elegance estate)
  12. Hi my Accord had done about 40K, my local dealer (Harrogate) made the initial contact. Their first offer was half price on the part so would have been around £700. I personally spoke to them saying I didn't expect something like this to happen on a four year old Honda. They wouldn't budge then changed their mind an hour later. Not long after I got it fixed I put an order in for a new Octavia, I've had it for 5 months now so far so good. I think it handles as well as the Accord, much easier to park, I only miss convenience functions like the electric tailgate, and of course the torque from the 2.2 diesel. BTW sorry Skoda peeps for the thread diversion.
  13. Ordered my 1.4 TSI Elegance estate 3rd Sept, got a phone call on 1st Nov from dealer saying they'd got the car, he was surprised it had turned up early. I had been quoted 12 weeks, dealer says cars are coming through faster now.
  14. Thanks for the replies. I test drove a 1.4TSi hatchback with manual gearbox, very impressed with the smoothness of the engine and throttle response. Decided I don't really need a 1.8 and will save some money. So I have ordered a 1.4TSi Estate in Elegance trim, haven't been told delivery date yet, was told about 12 weeks.
  15. I'm considering replacing my Accord Tourer with an Octavia Estate probably Elegance trim. I was thinking of the 1.4TSi but with the long delay in getting one and my sceptism about a small engine in a heavy car I've realized with the 15% discount 2 year 0%APR deal my budget can stretch to a bigger engine. Anyone got real world mpg figures, servicing costs (how often), any faults that needed fixing etc. I was considering an Octavia last time but didn't get further than a Honda showroom
