  1. Since May this year my 2.0 CR Diesel has had the following 3 faults. 1st time (intermitently doing the following)'Return to Workshop' displayed with flashing glow plug light eventually followed by the engine warning light being permenantly displayed, did NOT go into limp home mode. Called Skoda assist, car recoverd and taken to dealer, Resolution new exhaust temp sensor. 2nd time 'Return to Workshop' displayed with flashing glow plug light, instant lack of power & into limp mode. Called Skoda assist, car driven to dealer (when restarted all power was back and no warning lights being displayed), Resolution fuel pressure sensor. 3rd time 'Return to Workshop' displayed with flashing glow plug light, instant lack of power & into limp mode. Pulled over, turned engine off, waited 10 seconds and restarted, all warning lights off and power back, drove further 100 trouble free miles before taking into the dealer. Resolution 'Checked wiring loom in plenium chamber, fault with wiring loom, checked wiring loom and repaired and tested' !!!
  2. When I purchased my LE (new) from the dealer I noticed the original badge was already deteriorating, not bad for a car which at the time had 6 miles on the clock. The original badge was removed prior to delivery and a new improved badge supplied a few weeks later. Two years later and I still have not fitted it!
  3. Check the garage has managed to fit the correct number plates and that the tax disc is also correct!
  4. Think you will find that the rules and regulations about number plates will not allow you to put a newer registration plate on an older vehicle. I have a private plate which is KN AAA (N = Numberic A= Alpha Character) ‘K’ reg being for vehicles registered between 01/08/1993 - 31/07/1994. The plate can go on any vehicle registered after 01/08/1993, but not on a vehicle that has been registered before 01/08/1993.
  5. Would be interesting to know if other people who have an LE get the same information if they inquire about replacing a wheel! Although if others do call to enquire, don’t mention the car is an LE, just give the dealer the vehicle registration or VIN number, and if need be, ask the parts dept to confirm if the wheel being quoted for is a Zenith.
  6. How many miles had the car done on those filters / how old were they ?
  7. I also had several company cars from new (all petrol engines) over a ten year period, I ran them in though, first 500 miles up to about 3000 revs, next 500 up to no more than 4000 revs, once they reached a 1000 miles then they would be regularly be introduced to the rev limiter, non of the cars ever visited a garage apart from when needing a service, at the required service interval. I ran my CR diesel in using the same approach, also had the oil and filter changed at 1000 miles, and as I own it I have not yet found out if it has a rev limiter ! Suppose how you run it in, depends on a couple of things (1) do you own it and (2) are you going to be keeping for a long time.
  8. Assuming The Garage's Terms & Conditions comply with The Sales of Goods Act , what have they done wrong? (it may morrally seem wrong, but if they are playing within them, then legally they have not done anything wrong!) It may be if the exhaust were to fail with in 3 years and you take it back the garage might replace it F.O.C, as no doubt doing that would be good for their reputation. As I said earlier I was guessing and being cynical!!!
  9. Ref the exhaust, At a guess or being cynical!... as you bought the exhaust from the garage who serviced your car and not directly from the motor factors, your receipt/contract is with the garage, so if they decide to give their customers 12 months warranty on parts then that is what you get, regardless of the fact the motor factors may well have given the garage 3 years warranty on the exhaust box. If the exhaust fails before the 3 years is up, and you go back to the garage to get a new one, provided the garage are switched on, they are quid’s in, charge you for another system and return the faulty one back to motor factors for a credit!
  10. Last tank was filled at 551 miles and it took 51 litres, about 48.5 mpg, which had been 300 miles of motorway driving and about 250 miles driving round Norfolk. When only running around locally normal fill about every 500 miles. Have only ever run it on Shell diesel, tried the more expensive flavoured shell diesel, but it made no difference to the mpg.
  11. NCD is normally valid for two years (keep your last renewal which has the proof of NCD), therefore you can go for two years without insuring, just remember to insure something at the end of year two to keep the NCD going. Someone I know! purchased a Morris Minor from a mate (well at least the V5, as the car had been scrapped years ago), after two years of not having a private insurance policy he insured the Morris, which was dirt cheap to insure on a normal policy, think from memory he paid £100 to insure it for a year, this kept his full NCD up to date. The cost of keeping the max NCD up to date averaged out to just over £30 a year...
  12. I have had my CR for just over a year now, my journey's 2 and from work are about 5 miles each way, with maybe the odd additional short journey in evenings. Occasionally use the car to visit a customer(s), which could be journeys up to 100 miles. I have made no conscious effort to go out at regular intervals to make sure it gets the opportunity to do it's thing, the DPF warning light has not yet made an appearance. Perhaps some of the journeys I do outside of the short trips to work are adequate for what is required!
  13. Used to see Ferrari 308 that had 'THE 308S' as it's registration
  14. I am not impressed with the noise that my VRS makes when the horn is used.
