  1. ScoobyChris: Definately one of my favourite things when bored. Fly up behind someone doing 85-90 on a motorway and then match their lanes changes whilst keeping a sensible distance. Watch them panic and slow to 70 :-) Only really do-able in light traffic, as other cars flying past you both in the outside lane(s) tends to give it away
  2. The 4yr lease on my beautiful vRS ran out this week :thumbdwn: and they came and took it away from me. However, the company had a 225 Audi TT available which is my new vehicle. The Audi pulls stunningly from 4K revs plus however I do not believe it would beat my standard vRS to 62mph(100kph). My old Octy would easily manage 68-70mph in 2nd gear but the Audi red lines at 56mph meaning I need to change to 3rd. I therefore do not believe it is anything like 1 - 1.5 sec faster to 100kph. any views from anyone else? Other moans are obviously that the Audi is 11K more than my old vRS, has a small boot, will not fit anyone but thumbelina in the back, and swear to god, is slower when I really need it. I am not convinced of a 151mph top speed either. Admittedly I have only had it for a week an am only just getting used to the smoother gear change points (6 gears not 5), and I am still pining for my beloved vRS.
  3. Sorry "Either way.." not "Either may". Appalling Typo they are not even close on a keyboard.
  4. As an add-on to my last comment. I spent approx 15 min of a 20min chat in the back of the police car listening to how great the vRS is. The driver had just tried one out to replace his vauxhall (he may have been confused as we were actually in a Volvo). Either may he loved it - but still gave me my NIP :-(
  5. I didnt think you could get points AND a ban - just one or the other. I got caught at 124mph on the A1 - got banned for 42 days, no points and £300 fine - and this was with a letter from my company saying I would lose my job if I was unable to use the car for an extended period of time. It was also a first offence in 14 years of driving. I wouldnt expect too much leniency for much over 90 these days, and I agree that informing them you were unaware of the speed of your car is not a good idea. Dress smart and eat masses of humble pie, as the previous offence is not going to help you. Good Luck
  6. Got a few chips over the last year. Last clunk I heard scraed the c**p out of me. So much I pulled over.... ...massive hole in the front grill. Cheers :-( No idea what it was. Id take a paint chip on the bonnet over a gaping hole in the front of the car anyday. Eddy is correct - dont use the supplied brush with the touchup paint I got from the Skoda dealership - It is just too inaccurate and messy.
  7. I got a 42 day ban in December (ouch) but was lucky in that a) It wasnt longer and it hit the xmas hols so I didnt have to drive to work for some of it. As I recall my licence arrived in the post a few days before the end of the ban period - I dont remember having to apply for it first.
