  1. Mine wasn't quite as bad as yours, in 94000 miles I think I had almost all the known teething problems. Oil leak Number 3 ht lead seat belt receiver cracked [driver side] cam chain destroyed engine DSG clutch problem - plate replaced All sorted under warranty. Seat belt holder then failed again 2 or 3 sensors failed then the no 3 lead went again, this was sorted by the dealer but just after i picked it up popped into a shop and it refused to start. The RAC said it was probably a fuel pump on its way out but it would work intermittently. I took it back to the dealer who found that the Turbo was leaking and they needed to fix that before they could even say for sure about the fuel pump. To be fair to the dealer White Dove in Cardiff they got me a goodwill gesture from Skoda and a contribution from themselves. I decided to cut my losses and bought a 1 yr old Fabia diesel from them as I had a good part ex. allowance. Can't fault the dealer in all this and I also got to test drive plenty of courtesy cars which is why I ended up with the Fabia. I wont get another 1.2 tsi though as I don't trust them.
  2. It was a cold start rattle like yours. Despite the problems still love the car and will probably get another 1.2 when I can afford to.
  3. Had it with mine, it took out the engine at 55000 miles. They fitted a new chain and tensioner and it hasn't been a problem. Fuel consumption is a bit better too now
  4. Sorry you are correct about Jelly Bean being 4.2 the Motorola uses an almost vanilla android interface with just a few add ons. However my suggestion must surely be worth a try
  5. I have had a problem with my new Motorola Razr i loosing its bluetooth connection, had no problems with my HTC it's apparently a fault with Android 4.2. I have cured it by going into settings- apps - all apps and going to bluetooth sharing and pressing force stop. This works for me except that you need to do this every time you restart your phone. It's not really a problem as I have only had to do this once. I found this fix by searching the problem on the web, just type in bluetooth issues with android Ice Cream Sandwich or ICS. There is a new update out now called Kit Kat (Google have a sweet tooth) which has hopefully fixed this. The Moto G is running Kit Kat so should hopefully be ok. Hope this helps
  6. I've done over 70,000 miles in my 1.2 and the only problems I've had are a misfire on the no 3 HT lead and a cam chain tensioner problem which needed a rebuild but was covered under warranty. To be fair my engine is one of the early ones and these things have been rectified on later engines other than that no problems at all, in fact when I get my next car it will most likely be another 1.2 Yeti
  7. I had both timing chain and dsg problems. The dsg used to shudder when changing from 2nd to 3rd only randomly however usually when it had been driven round the city a bit and was warm, this was hard for the garage to diagnose. The timing chain used to rattle noticeably on start up for a minute or so then quieten down a bit as the engine warmed up. Timing chain eventually failed just before the warranty ended luckily as it needed a rebuild after. They did the dsg at the same time. Funnily enough before the rebuild I used to use oil but since I haven't had to top up in 11000 miles and my mpg is a bit better. My advice get the timing chain checked asap
  8. Oops should have read the location :S
  9. My dealer told me there wasn't DSG software as such just a general software package, also as you have identified the fault within the warranty period then it should be covered under the warranty, if they say no threaten Trading Standards and keep all the workshop receipts.
  10. I had the same problem with the judder on mine, it seemed to happen intermittently especially when warm. It ended up with the dealer fitting a new clutch unit. seems the early tsi is a bit of a nightmare but still love it.
  11. Mine was sounding rough on start up, turned out to be the camchain tensioner, I also have the early version of the engine and had to have the engine rebuilt - about £4000 of work luckily mine was in warranty. I believe there is a known issue with early camchain tensioners. Since the rebuild my oil consumption is better and my mpg has improved as well
  12. Just done 60000 miles, hardly trouble free but I am putting all the issues down to teething troubles with the relatively new engine at the time I got it. It seems all the problems I had have been fixed on later models. Still loving the car
  13. I had exactly the same problem with the number 3 HT lead, although mine was intermittent at first. I also had a judder with my DSG when changing to 2nd gear, cured by having a new clutch fitted. To top it all the cam-chain slipped and I needed a total engine rebuild at 55000 miles I have a 2010 model and I think the more recent engines are ok. I still trust the beast though and now the fuel consumption is 2-3 mpg better too.
  14. My dealer did the same under warranty when mine flew off too.
