  1. Hi guys, I have the Mk 1 Octavia vRS and have had the usual problem of the rear washer giving up but managed to fix it myself by taking off the hatch trim. Second time involved the pipe behind the CD changer in the boot, which had detached (not sure why the pipe would be down there but hey!...) This time the jet is not working. The pipe behind the CD changer is connected but when I take off the carpet on the left above the cd changer, water squirts out of the welded metal work. Its almost as if there is a pipe running from the roof of the car on the passenger side and in to the boot from there. Does anybody know the route that the rear washer pipe actually takes, before I have to start removing trim from the rear seats, etc.? Thanks Stu.

  3. Done it! I have to say though it is hard work getting the CD changer out. I tried pulling the lining about but as it was still attached up near the back seats (torque screw thing at end of metal diagonal bars behind seats) I couldn't get behind it to see what was going on. Is there an easier way???? Stu
  4. Hi guys, I have a similar problem. My washer failed a while ago as the tube disconnected from the wiper behind the tailgate cover. I re connected it and its been fine for a while. Recently, although the wiper works and the tube is attached, no water comes out. From what I can see the tube goes up to the top of the tailgate and into a short rubber section connecting to the roof of the car body. What is supposed to be behind the lining near the CD changer? Will I find another tube there??? Are there any other places to check the tube? Does it go along the nearside or offside of the car to the bonnet?? Thanks, Stu
  5. Hi, Having searched the forums recently I found somposts that told me how to check the rear washer tube at a couple of places if nothing is coming out when activated. I checked round the spare tyre and the passenger side wheel arch but found nothing. I have a Mk II Octavia vRS and the tube is connected at the washer/ wiper point on the tailgate. It appears to go to the right side (passenger) of the car into the roof section through a length of sealed rubber. Does anyone know where to check from here as to whether the tube is disconnected? Does it go down to the carpet edge or along the roof section? Left or right side? I know Skoda will charge me an absolute fortune to even have it checked!! The wiper works fine and the pump makes the whirring noise too. Its just the fluid that doesn't come out. Stu
  6. Thanks for that. Panic over and paranoia resolved! Stu
  7. Ok, I have photos... On closer inspection they seem to be the same distance proud of the housing/ moulding of car body. Have a look. Are these normal looking parts? Thanks Stu
  8. Hi, Yesterday I was topping up my washer fluid and noticed that the top of my suspension struts under the bonnet look odd. Basically you have the mounting on each side at the back of the engine compartment with the top nut of the suspension part screwed down on top. I thought the round piece bolted into the housing should be flush. Mine, though, are sat proud. One by about an inch and the other similar. Is this normal (maybe for adjustments?) or is it a problem? I hit a high 'ramp' at some road works a month ago that was more of a ridge in the road. Big bang, plastic shield below engine ripped away but everything appeared fine when driving. What do you reckon? Stu
  9. Thank you very much. You've put my mind at rest. Are they easy to fit myself and where should I get the bits? Or, will most garages suppliy and fit for a reasonable cost? I'm loathed to go to Skoda as they charged me
  10. Hi, Today I went through some road works and there was a large bump in the road. As I went over my tyres bore the brunt but when I heard a noise I found the plastic cover/ shield hanging down from under my front spoiler. I need a new one but does anyone know firstly what it is or how much its likely to be to replace? There seems to be three parts - left, right and centre, all hooked under the spoiler and bolted together. Any ideas??? Stu
