  1. Same car, same fault, just noticed this morning!
  2. I've just bought a new to me Octavia 1.9 TDi PD 4x4 elegance, tried this reset and ignition and it says Service Now. How come it doesn't report this when I start the engine normally? Is there some tweek the previous garage/owner could do to hide the service now indicator? Thanks, Tim
  3. Loving it, loving it, loving it. Best car I have owned by a long way. Just clocked up a fair mileage from driving it around, all afternoon and evening. Keep finding more! Magic Black, with black leather. Is that possible??? Thanks everyone for the comments, made me think it was the right decision, and now that its mine, I can't imagine that the new 4x4 could match this.
  4. I have been umming and ahhing for sometime now. I was going to buy a new octavia 1.9tdi 4x4, but tomorrow, hopefully, I pickup a secondhand octavia estate l&k 1.9tdi pd (130). Eventually decided I could not accept the cost of buying new. Really enjoyed driving this car during a testdrive. So assuming everything will be in place, I should get to be driving it tomorrow afternoon. As the post says, I just hope I have done the right thing. Better than my old Rover 400 anyway.
  5. I have now heard from the three sites above. Barjo:
  6. I was hoping for Chelski, but the better team won
  7. This would definately be the cheepest option. But I'll bung out a few emails to http://www.hamsterbaskets.co.uk/ http://www.barjo.co.uk/home/ and http://www.carbox.co.uk/ to see how much it is likely to be to have one built. Tim
  8. I have found in various threads on the forums, reference to dog crates, most specify examples of full size cages that will fit into the estate. Has anyone had a custom cage built to take up only half the width of the estate, but the full length, leaving room for luggage? I have seen some customised dog guards however I would prefer a cage so that my labrador doesn't rub up against any of the interior. Dog hairs are a pain to remove. Tim
  9. I'll be nipping back in to my local dealer over the weekend. Let you know if they can definately confirm it. Tim Thanks - passport at the ready!
  10. Is this something that can be requested with a new order. ie Please don't put any 4x4 badges on, including gear lever?
  11. Having still not test driven an Octavia yet, just wondered if anyone has driven both the 1.9 TDi Octavia with 5 gears and the new Diesel 4x4 version with 6 gears. How does the gearing compare? Anyone know why the different gearbox, is it to do with the Haldex? Tim
  12. That confirms what my local dealer said although I had never been able to find it in writing before. Tim
  13. Yes I had hoped, but that is only available on Fabia now Tim
  14. Hello, everyone. I have found this site really useful for gathering information about my potential next purchase. When I first heard about the new deisel 4x4 coming out. I decided that was the car for me. Finally seen one in the flesh at Woodheads, Blackpool. Now just waiting to actually take one for a test drive. Tim
