  1. Just ordered a pair of bearings and a bearing tool (lazer copy by the looks of it) anyone used one?
  2. Had some on my prelude...amazing quality infinately better than anything else iv had...vmax, koni, bilsteins+spax....didnt realise they were available for non japs
  3. Had the same issue with an old car... 54reg streetwise td....cost more to tax than a 54plate mgzr td....same emissions???
  4. Looks great...especially the pillars
  5. Ive had an sdi fabia combi for over a month now....there aint many cars I havnt owned or driven...I got the sdi as I needed a workhorse for my work comute that I could rely on and wouldnt break the bank maintenance wise... First thing first...IT IS A SLOW AS EVERYONE SAYS....but its a smooth comfortable not too noisy ride...ive been getting about 280miles to £30...which im very happy with. Its really grown on me and the cruise style drive is so comfy im gonna use it to drive down to newquay with (from brum) instead of my much faster gti... I cannot recomend an sdi anymore...and will happily buy another
  6. I did see on one of the more stripped down scrap yard cars that its just a dozen (guess) torx bolts and that front panel shud come off easy enough. Colour coding saves me doing it...especially as its been done quite well...ill see whats on offer at my tyre guy over the nxt few weeks as to what tyres I end up with...it will be lowered but only a bit as I promised the mrs the days of 100mm+ drops were over
  7. Picked up all the internal trim pieces I was missing on a scrap yard trip this week. Also got hold of the missing tool kit/jack etc that fits in the spare wheel and won me a luggage cover on ebay....also managed to swap a set of jdm split rims I had in the shed for a set of 4 vw santa monica alloys with 4 tyres...2 scrap 2 good but too big...so ill sell em (the tyres that is) and replace em.. Im guessing 195 40 17 is the way to go?
  8. No accident damage...all panels straight..rust on the tailgate got on through the number plate screws...the front panel rust is unkown..but having worked in a bodyshop i can spot when a vehicles been in a shunt...its been badly neglected by the last owner inside and out...im currently working through a long snagging list and im hitting the scrap yards nxt wk
  9. Recently aquired by means of a swap a 51plate SDi estate...ive been interested in a skoda for some time now as my previous cars were mainly VW's with a few japs and a couple of rovers thrown in the mix. I needed something with a bigger boot as ive not long had my first nipper and the rover streetwise boot was tiny and this came up on the swapz site...how coudle i say no.. its a bit ropey....has no mod cons what so ever (less to go wrong) and sits nicely at 130k no name yet but much prefer the combi name as estate sounds so huge a few pics followed by some questions its a comfort...but all colour coded? does they usually rust so bad in these areas?? before the haynes turns up..do the vents just pull out?? got to replace borh front ings down to tn worm on the bottom...and a general spruce up followed by a full all in service then a nice drop and some rims
  10. Need to tackle this myself in a few weeks time (not the clutch just belts n pump) im new to skodas and not tackled a belt in a while...any hints tips special tools required...and where did you get ur parts as im pretty local to you and thats a good price...
  11. Hi and hello...just swapped my rover street wise for a fabia comfort est sdi. 51 reg with 130k...runs like a dream...few bits need doin but all in good time
