  1. I went to new alloys and GY Ultragrip 8s - Very good indeed (in fact better than summer SC3 that they replaced in terms of ride comfort). Expensive option tho' but IMO worth it.
  2. Another vote for Goodyear Ultragrip 8 tyres - Went the whole hog and bought new alloys aswell as tyres - The Ultragrips are quieter on the motorway than my rather worn (22k miles) summer Conti SC3's. Fuel economy down about 3mpg. Funky tread pattern up about 100%.
  3. Now with winter tyres/alloys!

  4. The S car was more than likely auto to get a good getaway. Having run a B7 RS4 for 5 years, you need to by truly committed to get a full on drups (ie its fun and noisy)
  5. Quick update - Reformatted 32GB SD Card again - This time using FAT32 and 64Kb clusters (using Windows 7). Speed is now incredible, fraction of a second delay in resuming, searching and playing tracks (including hour long MP3's).
  6. For motorway driving I get a precise 50mpg. The magic rpm is 2100. No special diesel. Pace and frugality very happy
  7. Glad to hear that the fix is helping (if not solving) the problem for you. Class 10 according to the label - purchased from Amazon
  8. A possible fix for the lardy 32GB SD problem that Ive tried (and seems to work so far (3000 tracks)) is to format the SD card as FAT32 and select the cluster size to 32KB rather than using the default. I've tried this for a week or so and initial boot up time is a couple of seconds and track seek is only a second. Worth a try if you're struggling with these large SD Cards.
  9. Just to update this thread - I VCDS scanned a colleagues vRS which has had the firmware upgrade, and does work well with 32GB SD Cards. Looking at the log, it would suggest that Hardware revision F Bolero's updated to firmware 54 solve SD card reading issues, however revision G Bolero's updated to firmware 30 continue to have issues in terms of lardy playback performance. Output from Bolero Revision F, Firmware 54. 10. Looks to me from A pillar back a car based on VW Mkiv Bora - Quite like it really. Though I hope the name holds out to some performance version....
  11. Yes, I have. My Butt dyno reckons about 200bhp and around 280-290lbft. Tho' Id reckon a standard car is about 180bhp to start with.
  12. I had my Bluefin swapped twice in the last 12 months (last time in Feb this year to the vRS) - Superchips may have changed policy? Did you uninstall the map from your old car (that used to be the reason they charge nearly full price).
  13. Had my car serviced today and also had the Bolero firmware updated, looks like mine is a different version to Simons (OP). This hasnt fixed the long delay in reading 32GB SD Cards. Looking at the photos posted by Blackspaven and Skoda99 - Both of them have a revision F Bolero and I have a revision G unit.... Also the yellow sticker seems to be an information note as well, Ive not taken the vents out but I would guess mine has a yellow sticker with 29S on it, whereas the other Bolero's pictured have 10S/13S. Does the plot thicken?
  14. My Bolero + 32GB SD Card + 3000 tracks is not the most reliable, in fact drives me nuts (it has intermittent problems seeking when MP3's are DJ Mixes that are 1hr+). Many thanks for posting Simon - will be asking my local Skoda dealer to update the firmware the next time my car is due a service.
