  1. The suspension certainly doesn't need lowering - the back may appear high off the ground but the front certainly ain't!! After just a few weeks of having our vRS estate and grounding it more than a few times every bumpy road, uneven driveways and large speed bumps has to be treated with extreme caution. Looking at Darren's shiny car reminds me I must clean the car this weekend - Black is a great colour but it does get dirty so quickly.
  2. We've got the black estate and it was always going to be a choice between black and silver. We saw a red one and although it was nice, it just didn't look that special. I Never thought I'd see a yellow vRS estate, until we recently went to the garlic festival (sort of like a county show) in the Isle of Wight and the local skoda dealer had all the cars there and sure enough there was a yellow vRS estate - I was speechless, and my wife's reaction was 'thank god we didn't get that colour!'. I think the yellow is just too pale - but hey everyone's different
  3. Congrats on getting the black estate version. We got one a couple of months ago and still loving every minute of it. We've got a little boy and a dog and it was all getting a bit cramped in the focus! The focus is such an easy car to drive and after that the vRS does take a bit of getting used to. The turbo is very different and watch out for the ground clearance - it doesn't half make you wince when you hear it scraping on bumpy raods (especially when it's so new). My wife thought it looked like a hearse initially but she's getting used to it (no choice now as the focus is gone) and even paying it a few compliments. Her favourite thing is the parking sensors as they do make life much easier (you can get them retrofitted for the same price as factory fitted -
  4. Yes Tavia4x4 there must be inputs at the back, for in the menu there's an option to choose 'TV/Video' - mind you not so sure how safe that would be!! Oh and DGW is right the CD's do cost a lot -
  5. I bought my second hand vRS estate last month (it was only 4 months old - registered April) and I chose this over a new one as it was slightly cheaper, but also had all the extras including the sat nav - so its not new. Having said that its an absolute blast - bloody hilarious at times, but equally damned impressive. Certainly one of the best bits is how it interfaces with the dashboard as rich1068 points out - very neat. It's actually a Blaupunkt machine which is re-badged for a large number of car manufacturers. The MAJOR advantage of this factory fitted unit is the dashboard - I cannot emphasise how easy it is to follow the instructions from the dashboard (you also get voice instructions as well). If you tried to follow the colour screen with its nice map etc I guarantee it won't be long before you get rather intimate with the car in front! All this said - would I buy it from new? Probably not, but am I glad I've got it? Absolutely !! :D
  6. I just bought a vRS estate and though in the end I bought a 3 month old car with all toys on it I was making the choice between that and a brand new one. For the new car they offered a
  7. My local Skoda garage offered to fit the official Skoda tow bar and for Single electrics with a swan neck detacheable towbar the cost incl fitting is
  8. I've just ordered a detacheable tow bar from towsure.co.uk - costs
  9. The Sat Nav that you see in the piccies IS an option in the UK you just have to ask for it. Its a general VW option rather than a Skoda model specific option. I was lucky enough to have it already fitted in the 3 month old vRS Estate that I've just bought.
  10. Hi to all This is my first post but I've been looking at this site for a few months and have learnt an awful lot. I finally bought a 3 month old Black vRS Estate (my wife thinks it looks like a hearse!) which I'm collecting next weekend. Got quite a good deal on it and was persuaded because it had all the gizmos fitted (Cruise, Parking Sensors, Sun roof, Sat Nav and airbag deactivation switch) and yet I got it for
