  1. Can't have you going without a thanks on your profile could we? All the best Mark thanks for your help over the last 7 years. PS you might want to amend your cars coz another one has gone hasn't it!
  2. Cheers Lummox but what do you think about the metallic sound?
  3. The wife says no not any really big ones. But how would you explain the metal rattle. Having read the thread link posted by Decron this sounds like what has happened. Interesting though that the RAC chap didn't think so and got me to start and rev the car.
  4. Nah he was an old bloke and the engine was "too hot to reach down to touch anything" I gave him the obvious loose fallen off pipes, MAF, etc. I had to show him where to plug the diagnostic tool into!!!!.
  5. I thought that and that will be covered under warranty but what about the metal rattling. If the MAF goes do you lose power (accelerating it really did feel like the turbo had been stolen)
  6. Help went to garage refueled (with diesel before you all ask) came away from the garage there was a loss of power and a metallic rattling noise. Followed by more than usual black smoke coming out of the back and the orange engine management light coming on. This was literally a minute from home (we were about to go shopping) so brought it straight home. Rac were called he has been has now idea what the noise is (thinks it sounds like a heat shield rattling) put the diagnostic tool in and it is coming up with a mass air flow fault. So my question is this ........ What is likely to be wrong with my car. (PS the wife uses it all week to take little one too and from school and then she potters to work. The vehicle is completely bog standard and the turbo went and was replaced june last year. Currently on 43K)
  7. You see the Police have there uses sometimes. Probably lucky you were not in one of your previous cars or the outcome might not have been as satisfying! 1 - 0 to the sensible Drivers.
  8. Is it not possible to build this yourself I know the layout of the pins are on Stus website it is just a case of figuring out how to wire it up. Any body got any ideas????? I am pretty good with a soldering iron and may be able to build them for people can't be expensive to do.
  9. Daft question then Stu. I dable a bit with soldering at work having looked at your sit you have the sockets listed on your mobile phone integration. Do you think I do it myself have all the stuff to do it bar the adapter for the changer? Effectively the same way the have going to a box and soldering to 2 rca sockets then uing a 3.5 to rca from the pod
  10. I know There are 2 black ones out there and a slack handfull of silver. Just hope the vehicles figures get agreed PDQ Found this on Ebay will this work don't mind spending 30quid but not a ton any idea if this will work eBay.co.uk: LINE IN AUX Adapter for VW, AUDI, SEAT, SKODA iPod, MFD (item 120108631385 end time 23-Apr-07 13:24:31 BST)
  11. After 2 years of driving a desk I am being let loose on the road again. Had a bit of aprehension as the company cars are normally pants, but the boss said "You can have one of those little funny Skoda thingys" This will be leased unfortunatel there are not amny out there and I can not have an SE one as the colour is wrong for what I do. (Has to be silver or black) Anyway to save ripping out all of the stuff in our VRS that SWMBO now drives I need to know the cheapest / most cost effective way of marrying up my ipod and the standard stereo. (I will be covering 1000 miles a week at rubbish radio programme times) Any sensible sugestions please. Can't wait to get it and again dismantle everything to fit my parrot B/Tooth, my Originb2, my Sat Nav craddle, and a spare Cig Lighter.
  12. Over the last few weeks when SWMBO turns on the hedlights she stated ta the headlights weren't working. I had a look at it and the lights work it's the dash lights that do not always work. You end up turning the lights on and off abouth 4 - 8 times before the dash lights work again. It went to Skoda for the overheat on cold mornings problem that they fixed but they failed to spot any problem with the lights. Anyone else had this problem??????
  13. I have looked through previous threads on here but still need some advice please. Over Christmas treated ourselves to an aftermarket CD MP3 decoding, Aux in, USB in, SD MMC Card reading monster of a stereo. I have a few problems. 1) When on there is a "click" or dull thud every 4 or 5 seconds when on stereo setting, now unsure if this is linked to the following problem, it may be. 2) The reception is Duff on FM I bought the thingy from my local car place (similar to Halfrauds) but unlike pics on internet mine has bare wire no clip on the blue wire. I wired this to 12V is that correct as it still does not do anything to imptove the signal. Should i get another signal thingy from Halfrauds with a clip, if so where does the clip go? I am normally good with electrics have a parrot 3100, an active Brodit IPAQ cradle with GPS and an Active SP5 cradle all previously installed with no problem this is the first time have played with the Stereo.
  14. Look on tinternet there are now convertors for this kit CARK126 to make it pop port compatible (ie most of the normal nokias around now) for about
