  1. Hi guys, anyone know if the top mounts are identical, i mean will they fit on either side regardless?
  2. Yeah, i had the shocks put on a couple of months back, i did ask if the top mounts were done, and they wern't.
  3. Thanks for the input. Yes that's the only thing left i feel. My mounts are 40 to 50 a pop. Off to skibb tomorrow see if they have them, if not autodoc or some such. Judging by the low milage when i bought the car, all the rear is original, so worth changing them.
  4. Have, this knock is doing my head in knock. Had a 2 mechanics look at the rear suspension both say, there's nothing obvious. New shocks and drop links. All the bushs look ok, but i think there original 07. Is it possible old soft bushs would cause a knock but leave no witness marks? Thanks for any input, on the verge of setting a fire.
  5. If you haven't any water ingress into your cabin, it will almost definitely be a broken wire in the door gator.
  6. Found a broken but not separated brown wire on the airbag connector in the A pillar, not sure if i can slice it, or replace the loom. Oh and Rudycubes, the airbag system is yellow. Unless it's different on your mkII, on my mkII 1.6 mpi it's all yellow connectors and wires iirc.
  7. Tending to point to drop links for me, had monroe shocks, new disks pads and calipers fitted , still the rapid knocking over slight bumps, sounds like a ball joint/tie rod kind of knock. Back to the mechanic, thanks for all the input guys,
  8. Good question, was looking for the answer to that myself. From what I've gleaned so far is, high compression engines like diesels are interference to allow for closer tolerances and pressure. I have a MkII 07 mpi engine in mine. And, the timing belt is getting to that age.
  9. Hi guy's, been using the forums a little while now, some great topics and disscusions. Plus very usefull info. Thought it was time to say hello as i was enjoying your hospitality so much.
  10. Sure isn't it just a service reminder. I had the same message this morning. Everything else is working. However my courtesy light stopped working 2 weeks ago. But that could just be the micro switch capput.

  12. Thanks for the info guys. Most enlightening. Just aquired the no interior light story with mine. Baffled me when i couldn't find any switches on the car before i realised they must be in the door. On that note. Do you know if all doors have a switch, and are they independant, ie all work or none? I have an Octavia glxi 00 reg. Thanks again.
