  1. Wouldn't that rattle if I was in N though? Good thought though, I didn't think of that, I was thinking of a gearbox problem?
  2. Very odd but if I am in auto and am stopped or going very slow, when I take my foot off the break there is a rattle as the car creeps forward, when I stuck it in semi auto mode it dosent do it, Is this something I should be worried about? Car is a Cr diesel dsg vrs. The rattle is only there when moving but as soon as I put my foot in the accelerator it then dissapears. It's been going on for sometime but I don't know if I am tuning into it but to me it seems to be getting louder/ more noticeable. Car has done 32000 motorway miles.
  3. thanks guys for letting me know! Will need to get it booked in then!
  4. Wonder if anyone can provide some light on the issue i am experiencing with my washer jets. When i wash the front scree, the water also trickles from the rear washer? Ive flushed the system with warm fresh water just in case but to no avail? Is there a fix i can do myself or does the dealer need to see the car?
  5. got a vrs DSG, basically, as soon as i reached a slight incline, the car wouldnt go any further, lots of action from the wheels but causing little motion. So the upshot is that i find it useless in the snow!
  6. i doubt the engine will warm up enough in 10 miles to be efficient and burn off the crap through the filter. I say that you are better with petrol.
  7. yes, normal VRS driving gives me about 45 mpg but if i drive much more sensibly then i can achieve 64mpg.
  8. Specialist has looked at geometry twice. First adjust found all wheels to be out, especially at the back. Seemed to drive better afterwards but still, the insides at the back wear hideously. Went back again and they said it was spot on when they tested it again. Now gained a document from Skoda HQ saying its a known problem and what to adjust the geometry to and what tyre brands not to use. Tryes need changing very very soon so will get new ones and ask them to apply the new settings. I carry nothing in the boot apart from a tow bar. Maybe my towing of a caravan makes the problem worse. Who knows!
  9. My FL VRS fronts last just over 10k, the rears about 9k. With my mileage, thats the fronts and reard replaced three times a year! Burns a hole in my wallet! had all new tryes fitted in May. Just had a service and they all need doing now!!
  10. dont ask, i wasnt told about it until i took out the service deal and Skoda refused to change it to variable whilst i was in the deal. Last service saturday - variable servicing here i come!
  11. my fl CR DSG is on 29000 and its been great. Gets its third service done on saturday. just over a year old and loving it!
  12. indeed they will farm it out, thats what mine would have done, to the place who fitted it for me in any case, saved myself 200quid going direct!
  13. who knows, ive given up trying to find out whats wrong as everyone tells me that they are fine! Maybe i should slow down at the roundabout??LOl! Its depressing i know!
  14. Where in Wales are you? Im South and took my car to mototec in pontllanfraith. very good and fixed the problem of excessive wear on the insides. The tyres only last me 6000-9000 miles on the back now but they do wear perfectly even...
  15. Great, bought the wrong set twice now!!! If I went for the 16inch vw caddy wheels, could I swap over the tyres from the t5 onto them or would that not work? What i can't work out is that if I buy a set of steels without tyres, how do I know what size tyres fit, I know if I buy 16 inch rims then I need 16 inch tyres but how do I work out if certain tyre sizes fit other rims, for example the width of the tyre on specific rims?
