Afternoon, I've had a bit of a weird issue, basically when the lights are off, or I've got only my sidelights on the bulb warning lights comes on the dash. But when the main beam is on all is well and the light goes back out, and when I turn the lights off it comes back on. I've checked the bulbs and everything is fine and working. My car has factory fitted Xenons. So I've taken it to a local specialist who's gone over it twice checked the wiring etc. tried new xenon bulbs with no resolution. The next step they say is to change the ignitors which they've quoted £550 as it's a specialist part that has to be ordered from Germany. To rule it out I want to try some second hand units or new units, ideally Hella but would consider others but I don't want too much hassle fitting them. Does anyone know what I should be looking for or have part numbers? I've checked on here and from reading the ignitors and ballasts are integrated in the same unit, but I just want to confirm that as well. Or if you have other ideas let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers for all the replies. I found a shared house in Blaham, 5 mins from the tube and plenty of on street parking and put a deposit down. Initially I'm looking to stay for 6 months and I'll go from there to see what else is available in the wider area and outside the m25 etc.

Cheers, do you know much about Colliers Wood? I'm on spareroom already and found a few properties in the Balham / Colliers Wood area, I just don't know that they're like.

Nope 28, single, no kids. Yeah they're paying me a lot but they had to, to get me to work there haha. I'm not happy about paying up to £1k a month, I think it's a bloody rip off, but needs must and all that.

I'm looking to rent, my budget is probably around £1k a month and potentially a bit more for the right place. About 45 mins to an hour commute I'd go for and Swindon is out of the question, there is no way on earth I'm paying £8k a year + tube for a season ticket on the train haha. I'm currently looking at Clapham, Wimbledon, Stratford and possibly Woodford, although I've heard the Central line can be a bit dodgy. I'll probably only live at this place for 6 months tops while I find my feet as my contract for work does say I should be willing to travel Monday to Friday, so I want to know what kind of places I'll be travelling to before I settle into something longer term.

Really I just want decent ideas on where to live, I will be working in the city so it needs good links to there, no more than 45 mins travel ideally and I hopefully want to take my car with me. True not all dealers can. But what the original poster has said is that Skoda UK have non available and they won't put the one they have in their showroom on the road, so that does suck.

VRS or an Ibiza FR wouldn't come on my radar for a cheap "fun" toy, they both burn the wrong fuel and even when fettled don't do a lot for me, but my personal preference is free reving petrols. Old EP3 CTR, Pug 306 GTi 6, Clio 172 Cup, Mazda MX5 all relatively cheap to run and fun. If you were sold on a diesel though and it's just a second car get the Ibiza purely because they're cheaper.

A colleague of mine ended up buying a merc van instead of one of these recently, purely because the price was obscene with the scene tax.

Drop it out and just buy a bottle of G12/13 coolant (can't remember which) and your sorted as the coolant is a lifetime item so should never need to be replaced.
