  1. Retention as wantaskoda and The Plumber describe. Cost is £105, details on the DVLA site. Don't do a cherished transfer (the alternative approach) to have your new vehicle delivered on your cherished plates. In our recent experience doing it for company vehicles, cherished transfer is likely to delay things considerably and the dealer will hate you. Three years ago my Superb sat at the dealer for four weeks waiting on the DVLA. We had a Volvo V70 in the last few months that ended up as the dealers showroom vehicle temporarily because the cherished transfer took DVLA nearly two months :wonder:. My understanding is that this paperwork used to be handled by the regional offices, now it is all processed centrally in Swansea. We now only do retention. Regards
  2. I maybe totally wrong here but aren't the 4x4s built in a different production plant to the standard vehicles?
  3. In my experience it is not worth having. The only occasions when it has activated a warning the pressures were totally fine. I wouldn't expect it to activate with sudden loss, as other people have found TPS can take a while to notice something obvious such as swapping 18" alloys for 16" steels with winter tyres.
  4. Hmm, I wonder what the story is with the chrome window surrounds? Seems odd that all the marketing at launch showed vehicles with, especially estates, and now it is not available. You are right, black/black is a better combination than black/chrome. Hope the uncertainty and lack of surrounds hasn't spoiled things for you. Regards
  5. It's good to see that they have addressed the CO2 emissions on the Superb FL. The CR140 TDI DSG that I have is down from 159g/km to 137. The nearest equivalent Octavia CR150 TDI DSG still beats that at 119 g/km. Basically the same difference again. If I stay with the company car rather than taking salary I will still be 'trading down' to the Octavia.
  6. Blimey, quite a jump in pricing though it does put it in about the same relative position with my company car budget as three years ago. My budget is pegged to the current list price of a BMW 318d SE saloon. I'm now even more certain that I will be swapping the Superb for an Octavia Estate. Still a reasonable difference in BIK percentage, 19% vs 15% (Superb 2.0 TDI CR 140PS DSG @ 137 g/km vs Octavia 2.0 TDI CR 150PS DSG @ 119 g/km). Best regards
  7. If it is of any help, this is the position of the factory-fitted MDI. Best regards
  8. Have a look at the Owners Manual (from this thread). I seem to remember from a cursory look through that both sockets are live even with the ignition off (as are the equivalent sockets in my current Superb). Best regards
  9. As andrehj says, unfortunately no. Auto.cz - Exkluzivne: Škoda Superb facelift naživo! The new electronics in the Octavia are tied to the new MQB platform. This is one of the factors that is swinging me towards the Octavia as a replacement company car.
  10. This was true before the full model change, I came to the same conclusion back in 2010 when selecting the Superb Elegance Estate as a company car. But as a company car driver 'down-grading' ( ) to a fully loaded Octavia Combi V3 (which has grown is size) is compelling on the basis of tax liability alone. The swap will give me an effective increase in net salary of £1,500 / year. In addition to the new engines (hence the drop in CO2 emissions) Octavia now has all the other MQB platform related improvements such as the new Amundsen/Columbus which you won't see on the Superb until 2015. By the time the Superb goes through a full model change it will appear quite dated. Best regards
  11. Looking at list prices the base spec A4 Avant SE (I'm only interested in estates) is £27k for the manual 2L diesel. For that amount you are getting a fully loaded automatic Elegance with navigation as part of the standard spec (also 15 PS more power for the same BIK band if you are bothered about that sort of thing). Obviously YMMV with negotiating a discount but to me the rise in price of the Octavia hasn't made the equivalent Audi or BMW any better value for money. My company car budget is tied to the current list price of the BMW 318d SE Saloon. Best regards
  12. Specifications (and the names of specification levels) differ from country to country. The OP is Finnish so I assume we are looking a Finnish Elegance spec Octavia. Best regards
  13. RHD as well. Any information about the engine line-up yet? I guess the low CO2 2.0 TDI 150PS CR in the new Octavia is going to be dependant on the MQB platform.
  14. There is a good chance that my current Superb company car will be replaced with an Octavia Combi in December. The list price of the base Superb Elegance CR140 DSG Combi buys the equivalent Octavia Elegance CR150 DSG with a load of extras including Canton audio and the tow-bar I need. The icing on the cake is the drop in emmisions from 159 to 119 g/km CO2 which will save me around £1,500+ in payable income tax. About the only thing I'll lose are the Bi-Xenon headlights. Best regards
