  1. JR RS Checked the lights this evening when parked car and both little "side lights" were on, looks like 3 bulbs/LEDs and pretty bright. Thought it was the fogs coming on when speed dropped below 30mph. Video very informative thanks. clarksonline cornering fogs come on in daylight as well. Thanks guys
  2. I have a 72 Sportline plus 190. When driving at night sometimes it looks like the turn fog lights have come on but on turning they then come on. Do the little triangular lights come on independently in certain circumstances. Have searched but cant find any information about them. tia.
  3. Locked my keys in golf bag in boot with car doors locked (mirrors folded) put hand on boot latch and opened boot. Also with key in golf bag pocket on opposite side from car boot won't open, turn bag round and boot opens. When washing car with key in pocket doors lock and unlock with washing action, place key 10ft. away and doors stay locked/unlocked. Will try locking it in tomorrow, probably only possible by actively touching touching sensor but if you can lock it with key inside the car it means the key is being read and therefore stands to reason it will be read to unlock the car. I think the keyless signal is only about 3/6ft.
  4. Lots of manufacturers have rear light clusters continuing on to the boot lid. A bit of observation while driving will make you aware that very few of the boot lid clusters light up. About the time of the Mk4 launch VAG/Skoda put a block on VCDS OBD port access on certain actions, some of these have now been overcome by commercial entities. I had a 59 plate facelift with fog lights with two bulbs, on the brochure it showed an SEL with DRLs in fogs, had them switched on by dealer, didn't show on bill. This was an option at I think £100 for DRLs (just before they were mandatory). Reversing light on one side (drivers side) could be switched to two sides by changing to Scandinavian reverse lights if I remember correctly. My son has top of the range all leather all electric Alhambra and he had to activate folding mirrors on it.
  5. Just a thought. If I fit a 205/55 R16 spare with a 205/55 R17 opposite the tyre monitoring system will activate due to different rolling speeds as the 16 inch tyre covers less distance per revolution.
  6. UK online brochure and configurator do not list options for park assist nor Alcantara upholstery. Strangely the new Fabia has park assist as an option. Point I am making is that things like puddle lights and door warning lights were standard on SEL but are now gone. UK online brochure could be out of date as configurator price is £2-£3 more than brochure price. Thanks for input guys. ps Have now experienced DSG hesitancy in changes along with all the other foibles in the infotainment system.
  7. Couple of turns of Duck tape on seat catches and small squares of carpet on boot rubbers have made the car almost silent. Not what you want on a 30k car though!
  8. Unfortunately Park Assist is not available on the Mark 4 configurator, used it all the time on my Mark 3. Each version of the Octavia has lost something, eg. puddle lights, door warning lights (now reflectors), Alcantara, light carpets with light upholstery, now dark seat bottoms with light seats etc. Lot of penny pinching to give you dodgy technology. SEL rear lights on outers only yet most youtube videos of European "Style" equivalents have full width rear lights. Think Skoda UK decide trim levels etc.
  9. Picked up spare wheel from dealer only to discover when I got home that it was a 205/55 R16 which is smaller than the 205/55 R17 fitted to the car. According to Skoda brochure the spare wheel option is 205/60 R16 which is the same diameter as the 205/55 R17. The dealer is saying the 1 inch smaller spare is what Skoda provide. I have now raised this with Skoda and await their reply. I really don't think Skoda should be supplying different sizes.
  10. 12v in boot always live, had my dash cam plugged in until hard wired.
  11. Which cable did you use, I have been looking for a suitable one for a while.
  12. Purchased 2,0 TDi DSG recently with 1400 miles. Used by dealer as courtesy car. Built 8/20 reg 31/3 21. Car marketed as SE L but registered by DVLA as Octavia Sty TDII. Compared to my previous SE L this one has lost puddle lights, warning light in front doors (now reflector), microswede instead of alcantara, seat bolster sides now cloth instead of leather, lost alcantara on upper part of doors, rear lights - led basic function - only outside area of lamps light, boot lights totally redundant. Reviews of continental "Style" models have full width lights. Usual ACC no pass mode and yesterday after update lost all driving data. Apart from that, 186 mile motorway/dual carriageway journey at speed limits - 74.6 mpg. Brilliant car.
  13. I think in car settings there is a 'safely remove sd card 1' and 'safely remove sd card 2' option, maybe using this and letting software eject card will work over brute strength.
  14. Think it only works in back-in spaces, although you can use it to get out of parallel spaces. I never reverse into head-in/back-in spaces as you need boot access without taking supermarket trolleys up the side of the car.
