  1. Which bulbs from this eBay shop are needed? I'm assuming they are 501s and festoons? But what size festoons and is it as easy as unclipping the old ones and popping in the new?
  2. For once, it was the compare sites that worked in my favour when I sorted my insurance out a few months ago. Had been with Chris Knott a few years and got a ridiculous renewal quote that was quite insulting. Rang around many insurers but for some reason Admiral was the cheapest for me, they gave me the same quote as I had found on Confused. Hopefully next year will be different though as paying circa £300 more than last year is a joke IMO. (p.s I'm 31, full no claims and no mods).
  3. Cheers for this, only seen your post this morning. I've checked the sticker in the boot and it says BMN, so that's that one sorted!!! It's a PD not a CR as I had thought.
  4. P.s - here are some pics of my old ST if you're at all interested.
  5. Uprated DP is ideal for stage 2 but not essential. Don't get me wrong, the vRS I mention didn't stand much chance but I was genuinely suprised by the pull it had from about 30mph up the slip road - not sure if it was a petrol or diesel though. Chose the diesel purely because I had recently changed jobs which meant more miles commuting, at 30mpg at best I chose mpg over bhp but with a decent compromise on looks, affordability and reliability. Originally had looked at a 320d but was boring, then looked at a Saab 93 but was unimpressed. The skoda was the best choice at the time and I don't regret it one bit.
  6. Hi Jonno, Had stage 2 remap (Bluefin), dreamscience induction kit and Airetec Gen3 Intercooler. Never put it on a RR but based on comparisons with others who had same mods, 285 was about probable. Was gonna get uprated downpipe and/or sports cat before deciding to get something different. Went for a vRS after being quite suprised with how quick they shifted after one chased me up a slip road.
  7. A diesel that sounds like a petrol? Mine sounds like a diesel but in fairness my last petrol car was a 285bhp Focus ST so I'm not sure if im confusing what a petrol sounds like to a diesel that sounds like a petrol. I'm guessing then mine is a PD, although from the information on vRSworld.co.uk the CR engine is 05 onwards?
  8. Cheers both. Yeah I'm sure it's a CR. The registration date is 02.07.2007. How can I find out to be sure if it's CR or PD?
  9. Good morning everyone, I seem to have misplaced my owners manual, so wondering if one of you good people will give me an answer to my question. What oil do I need for my 2007 CR170 TDi? Regards Chris
  10. Buying a car like an RS though is never about value for money. The clio needs to be driven hard to get the best from it, too much effort IMO. As for being more entertaining, I find them a bit dull if I'm honest. Great handling but just not enough mid range grunt to satisfy what I want from a car. Swings and roundabouts though I guess. If we all agreed, it'd be a boring place to be.
  11. Each to their own I guess. IMO the RS is a quality looking car. I had an ST and it'd blow the socks off my vRS, it was 280bhp though but even as stock it's quicker than a vRS (Diesel or petrol). I agree on the mpg and turning circle though, both are pretty poor - but I know so many people who have bought a car without doing their homework first then end up moaning about the running costs afterwards - thats not the ST or RS's fault, that's the owners fault.
  12. It'll drink fuel in comparison to a vRS 170, but apart from the Audi, it's better than the other 2 cars you've mentioned. The Evo article was a good watch actually.
  13. As the title says really - some pics of my mate's Focus RS. Its a full Mountune conversion so is pulling 350bhp - and believe me, its quick! The power delivery is perfect, really progressive but pins you in your seat at the same time. More impressive though is the handling, it goes round corners like its on rails. Oh, and the sound is just ridiculously good. After driving it, it just doesnt make my heavy diesel feel the same anymore Comments welcome!
  14. IMO you should go for the one you've posted mate - it's each to their own though really, if you'd be happy with how that one looks then go for it!
