  1. Good day Anyone have a link to any updated firmware for my Amundsen head unit? Attached is picture of SW train. Cheer Chris
  2. Doesn't look like a lot of fresh oil as I would expect to see. Maybe it is just old oil from the egr system Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I've had a look and the egr looks pretty clean. Certainly can't see any drips or oil underneath it. I've found the oil feed pipe and followed it around to the back of the engine but it drops down towards the turbo leaving me about a keyhole to look through - of which I can't see enough. May have to get underneath it again and have a feel up see if any fresh oil around the feed pipe. I've another vrs same year although done 160k and the turbo on that is silent. Maybe this turbos just on its way out :/
  4. Yeah it's a 2005 mk1 asz engine. That's brilliant. If the oil feed is leaking will it be a matter of re-torquing it back up or does it have a seal on it to replace ?
  5. That's great , thanks for that. No I have no idea about Turbos at all so at least now I know where to shine my torch! Cheers
  6. Thanks for the pointers I'll check both those areas
  7. Under the car yesterday doing some jobs and spotted this oil residue around turbo. Is it just vapour from the egg system or is it something wrong with turbo itself. The cars done 150k and I've noticed the turbo whistles a bit but put that down to leaky boost pipes. Cheers
  8. Did it to my one about six months ago as using tiny amount of coolant on long runs. Worked a treat and still running fine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/index.php?/topic/345757-Fabia-vrs-slow-coolant-leak Fixed my leak a treat!
  10. Hi - so today I got around to replacing my drop links and arb bushes. All done. Then when I was putting the wheel back on I noticed one of the wheel nuts was different to the rest ( and I don't mean the locking nut!) on closer inspection I noticed half the thread was missing from the nut and it refused to tighten. When I tried another nut in the same hole it just started threading it! Managed to put rest of the nuts back on ok but one hole just strips thread. This is the first time I've had wheels off after buying it 6 months ago so either a surprise from the previous owner or it was done when I had tyres fitted four months ago? How do I go about replacing the actual part of the wheel that the bolts go into? Is this a separate piece or do I need to replace the whole hub? Is this problem just one of those to take to a garage!..... cheers
  11. I just replaced my headbolts to PD150 as had slow coolant leak on motorway runs - possibly head lift and it solved problem ! I torqued like this 40 60 then two 90degree turns. It gets a bit sweaty on the last 90 but stick with it [emoji16]
  12. Thanks mate - finally got around to changing head bolts to PD150. Topped coolant up and been using car for few weeks now including a 2hr motorway drive - success !!!! No coolant loss at all , really pleased. Thanks for the advice!! [emoji106]
  13. I'll double check mate once my new jack and stands turn up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Sorry guys found the guide on removing the egr! My bad! Doh!!
  15. Today I changed the headbolts in my 54 Fabia Vrs. It's done 140k and is using coolant really slowly. So just a shot in dark before it goes for head gasket testing/replace, thought I'd try replacing and re-torquing. Anyway ordered PD150 bolts from Darkside and swapped them out one at a time using torque wrench. I come unstuck on the final head bolt. Any ideas how to get this one out? I undone it fine but can't physically pull it out as it catches on the object above. Do I need to remove the part above and if so how do I do this? Is there an easy way ?
