  1. I can't be sure, you often get conflicting information on here, but I did try a second unit and it didn't work. I couldn't establish if the fault was the unit or the loom. Obviously first thing is to clean all the plug connections of any corrosion. Could just be a poor connection.
  2. Jeez, how old were the pads? EBC pads have apparently improved a lot. They have invested a lot in their design.
  3. Is it just me? I don't understand how you can get brake fade on a motorway? You shouldn't be braking that long that you are putting the heat into your brake fluid. the pads and discs should operate at enormous temperatures. (even standard cheapo road spec) Are you sure you don't have a sticky caliper? Could be a rear? Same fluid. Change out the fluid for some ATE blue or get RBF600. I use the RBF in my track car and it can take a punishment. The other thing which gets me is why are you braking on a motorway? Shouldn't need to use your brakes if you are driving properly.
  4. I believe the changers are not interchangeable. I've already tried that and it didn't work. Make sure you eject your CD cassette before all stops working completely. I'm currently hunting for a new head unit. Gave up trying to fix the changer connections. Make sure you fix the washer connection or there could be a problem with the other bits of the loom. Don't glue or fix the joint as it's an accessible joint, if it can't pop, an other one will go when under pressure instead.
  5. Not wanting to teach people how to suck eggs. Drivers Republic - Driving Techniques - Lift-off …:
  6. Not wanting to cast doubt over your ability to drive, but do you know what lift off over steer is? If the back end is leaving you during turning it could be the way you turn!
  7. I'm old so maybe I miss lots of the **** you younger drivers have to put up with, but I found sky to be the cheapest, year after year. Flux has never managed to get me a competitive quote. When a car is modified it's not as easy to get cover.
  8. Why no advice regards your timing belt? Thought that would have had a mention too?
  9. Geeesss, miss a few days on here and my name is mud. If you do a live remap accuracy in the reading is the aim your airflow reading is pretty important, try a cheap Chinese maf for comparison and you'll see the difference. You think your maf is as accurate as it was when it left the factory? Not dirty at all then? Yeah sure it is. Fueling will be away to feck. Get a new Bosch one, return yours for a refund. Simple. Your tb should be cleaned, again for accuracy in mapping. Oh yeah, recirculation valve, yeah, plastic or metal? You decide which it best. If you've a problem with any of this, grand, this is a FORUM. Clue in the name.
  10. Packet salt and vinegar mc coys and a twix, but that's my final offer.
  11. Try Sky insurance. Not the tv company obviously. My track car is heavily modified and they beat everyone else by a mile. Including that robbing flux crowd
  12. Put up photos or links otherwise these are just random numbers. Roofboxes are for people with stuff to transport. Most on here don't own any stuff. Me I've two roofboxes one for the missus car and one fir my old SAAB, no idea if it fits the skudder or not. Have you roof rails ?
  13. Must do this pre remapping: New MAF Clean Throttle bodies. Disconnect motor before you move the flap or you'll need a new TB. NEW recirculation valve. Forge is popular. THIS IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE DUDE WHO DOES THE MAP.
  14. Hi all, thanks again for replies. Car has been fine since light was extinguished. Not that there was anything wrong before, so went into garage today and they didn't find anything. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. Cheers. Just to add I've done about 300 miles since resetting the light.
