Well I have a 2011 Tsi 5 door and Webuyanycar has just offered me £7k as a trade in, the book price for a Petrol Tsi has went up £750 in 4.5 months !! im looking to change mine as well as I have never kept a car for 7 years since buying it new, the most I had kept a car was 4 years before this. It’s mainly because it hasn’t cost me or gave me any bother since new !!

VRS - Petrol or Diesel for small commute

Get a petrol for that mileage if you like driving it's all about smiles per gallon not miles per gallon -
HOWTO: New Octavia - Headlight Bulb Change
Bullit replied to andy2407's topic in Skoda Octavia Guides
Another happy user of this "How to guide" both dipped and main beam replaced with Philips Headlight BulbXtreme Vision PLUS 130% Extra Light - H7 Twin Pack Osram Nightbreaker UNLIMITED - Performance Bulbs - H1 448 Twin Pack The FL light units at the back just have the rubber bung cover so no need to undue screws and take plastic cover off of the headlight unit to get at the dipped beams. -
I have handed a car back under 50% voluntary termination and it just showed as 'Settled' on my credit report just like I had paid it off. I have since had finance from the same company (Ford) at my same address.

Massive Saving on a new skoda

Well I bought my wife's Fiesta Zetec S 10 months ago through DTD and paid the exact price and discount from the website. -
Downsizing....anyone considered it?
Bullit replied to pipsyp's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
If you are looking at cars that size then look at the Fiesta 1.0 Zetec S Ecoboost, 125bhp only 99gms so tax free. My Mrs has one and its a great engine sounds fantastic and punchy and the Fiesta is a genuinely great handling car, I love driving it and I'm used to a remapped petrol VRS ! -
are dealers taking the pi$$ with vrs prices
Bullit replied to seve88's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I just went to the dealers last week, for my 2011 Vrs Tsi he gave me the printout that he would give me £9550 for it and put it on forecourt at between £11495 and £10995. MK11 seem to be holding pretty well, that's 4 years old and still at 50% of about what I paid new. -
I'm another one for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, a great tyre which also has great alloy wheel rim protection band. I got my tyres off of blackcircle however when I looked at F1 Autocentres price online they were not that much dearer when ordered online and fitted at local centre.

All the best, disappointing that Hortons treated you so badly especially as they are also my dealer. However I am forewarned AGAIN THAT THEIR STANDARDS ARE SLIPPING and they are starting down that slippery slope of over confidence. We have all seen excellent dealerships go to the gutter quickly ruining a long earned reputation. It's also pleasing someone telling a story of dissatisfaction as sometimes these boards are full of people that have the fastest/unbeatable/faultless machine.........I believe these same people holiday in Elevenerife as Tenerife is not good enough... Every company has one of them, like these boards.

My Vrs Tsi is 4 years old and has only done 21k, not through short journeys but because I go away with work often and have access to other transport. Serviced every year no matter mileage and is in brand new condition, a 120,000 mile car would have so much more worn out than an engine that sat on the motorway. Condition/History etc would ultimately make me decide however no way would I go near a 120k car.

If the Octy 3 had looked like that I would have bought one. Instead they actually made the Octy 3 look worse and blander !

Are you sure you drove the petrol? The revs don't die and the power doesn't fade, maybe it was broken or something The Tsi destroys the diesel, In any gear if grunt is the measure. My friend has the diesel and we have driven each other's cars and had some spirited road tests and the Tsi is significantly quicker.

In my petrol Vrs I have never reset the OBC and it shows 36.7mpg over 21k miles.........all with a massive smile. If mpg is your goal buy the diesel, if it is smiles per gallon buy the petrol. The diesel at 170bhp is a 'routine' car and if that is in any way in your thoughts it will disappoint you quickly when you cannot get someone off your rear bumper on the motorway. My last 5 cars were diesel, however with the newer turbocharged petrol engines doubt I will ever go back.
