  1. Hi guys. I've been reading this thread on/off for a while and finally decided to jump in. I live in N Ireland and own a 2007 Octavia Sport 2.0tdi in Corrida red. My spec is ok. Rear windows professionally tinted, 3 spoke steering wheel, 4 electric windows, leather covered jumbo box, regular air-con and it is a sport according to the V5. No SPORT badges on rear doors thankfully but each to their own. Currently running gunmetal pegaus alloys and colour coded door strips as I couldn't look at the black ones any longer than I did. Anyhow, currently running H&R springs and thinking of a Bilstein B12 kit. Having owned the car for 4 years I am still happy. It has plenty of room and plenty of poke when I need it and I think the red looks good. I am the second owner from new. I must dig out some pics when I get the chance. Martin.
  2. This happened to me this weekend. I've since glued it back on after taking the heated pad and frame out but I'm pretty sure I will end up now with only one working heated mirror as the glue may hinder it. Also noticed that when I try to adjust the driver's side mirror the passenger side one moves too. I may have connected the 2 wires the wrong way around but I'm guessing as I thought they were just for heat. A new mirror unit seems pricey.
  3. I bought my Approved used Octavia II from John Mullholland Motors over a year and a half ago but just stumbled onto this thread. I can't really fault the car I bought however I was disappointed on the day of collection. The fuel light came on after driving a few hundred metres out of the gate. This was before I even got to the roundabout nearby. (check google maps to verify how close by this is) I went to the petrol station a bit miffed and phoned the garage to complain when I got home. After speaking to the salesman again I was referred to John. I was told that it would cost too much to fill cars with fuel and I could not expect them to absorb the extra cost of putting fuel into their cars. I'd like to know if new cars are filled or do they go out empty too. Are used sales treated differently from new sales maybe? I have been happy with the car and just wanted to be honest and share my experience with fellow members. I can stand over my comments and have told the truth. It was not the case I excepted the car to have a full tank of fuel but I would have at least expected a quarter of a tank. This is the only car dealership that I've ever bought a car from which left me to put fuel into it before I could even get it home. Not a good start as a new customer to this franchise or the the Skoda brand. Well done Bavarian, Agnews and Donnelly's. I've bought used cars from each one of these dealerships and they all ensured there was fuel in the car as a good will gesture. Hopefully for everyone else this was just a one off.
  4. Thanks for replying guys. My dealer has faxed me a copy of the exploded diagrams so hopefully I can work out what's needed and try and decide if it's really worth the effort. Although I am a little fussy so I might have a go at it all yet
  5. Hi folks ! I'm currently in the process of retro fitting a jumbo box and console but I've come across a stumbling block. On the rear of the armrest there are heater controls which I would like to connect up. Does anyone know the part numbers of the pipes I need ? I've contacted 2 skoda dealers here in N.I but they don't seem to know what I need. One did call them air guides but the parts chap could not be sure which ones I need. I've tried the search facility but may have missed the relevant post. Can anyone help as I would like the controls to work for the rear paasengers and not just having them there for the sake of being there. I've a nice leather armrest waiting to go in but this issue is holding me up. My car has manual air con if that makes any difference? Thanks in advance. Marty
  6. Hi folks. I just wanted to say hello as I signed up but never introduced myself.. I drive an 07 2.0tdi Octavia sport which I've owned for about a year and a half. Well done Skoda as I really like it !
