  1. Sorry i should have said i am claiming off the other persons insurance. My car was parked and they skidded into me on the ice. I have witnesses and the driver admitted they lost control and slid into me. So I shouldn't have any effect on my insurance, should I? But I am concerned if the claim will be logged Thanks
  2. Hi My car has been hit by a car in a car park and the damage to the front bumper is estimated at about £500. A lot for minor damage repair and re-align bumper I think. If I use insurance will it be logged on HPI or whatever? When i come to sell I want to be able to show it wasn't bad, so a photo may help but being logged as a accident repair may not be a good thing? Is there a level before they are put on the register? Thanks
  3. I wasn't doubting your results p-torque I suppose Jabba, Revo et al tend to come to mind as they get the most mentions. Why do most tuners seem to suggest 135ish bhp and you remap for higher (157)? Q. Are all PD clutches the same? The 130 and 105 in particular?
  4. Is the clutch the same? Anybody know for sure
  5. Thanks for the replies. I think the 105 pd I have now is not as smooth at low revs as the 130 pd I had, does anyone else find this? Would a remap smooth this out at low revs? Car has 13k on it. So clutch shouldn't be worn hardly at all (unless the previous owner has given it a hard time:eek:) p-torque.co.uk: price sounds good but to be honest never heard of you? :)Anybody got experience of p-torque.co.uk?
  6. How well will the 105 pd clutch deal with a remap? The offer seems to be to 135 bhp and around 225 ft/lbs. Is that too much? Will the clutch slip? I know lots of the 130 1.9pd have slip when upped to 170 Thanks
  7. 15" fitted to car, but I saw some GT Sport 17s on e-bay which I am sure will be repeated soon. Yeah MF steering wheel and highline comp plus auto dim rear view, auto lights (mmmm?) auto wipers (again?) i-pod docking station in arm rest, see you home lights etc.......... But only 105 and a 5 speed box:( It is a 2008 57 plate, cost £10640, so price to change was £4k (or less if you take off the £500 worth of stuff the fabia needed) a no brainer to me. Much slower but I have been looking at remaps;) any info on what the clutch will take? Is the golf much heavier? the fabia is a heavy b***er. The handling is really quite good, I drove a Mk4 a while back and it was really poor. BTW the Fabia lost £5K from new in 2 yrs 11 mths and 38K. Thats good going I reckon.
  8. Golf Match 105, it has loads of toys (more to go wrong?)
  9. Said farewell to my 38K 55 reg Fabia vrs yesterday. All happened quickly, got the chance of another car and so I asked my local Skoda dealer if he was interested in buying the Fabia off me. It needed 4 tyres needed the 3 year service in 400 miles and of course an MOT next month. Maybe £500? So the offer of £6500 was accepted. So I am no longer a Skoda owner I will continue to watch, read and learn if I may from what has been a great forum to be part of. Thanks to all who have helped, mostly without knowing it, and I wish you all continued fun.

  11. Have you tried swapping wheels around to see if it has any affect? I have read of tyres that are way out of alignment for the tread which will pull to one side. just a thought....................
  12. Depends what you got in the boot:) About 500Kg in the boot should give a nice 50:50 split...............
  13. I think the wheels look far too wide for the tyres, the tyres looked very stretched. What width are the wheels? Leather is nice.
  14. Thanks for the replies I will try and get round to checking them soon, and I will take a pic or two. The tech said the pads needed attention soon so I suppose I should have a look in case he is right? Yes main dealer, that gets good reviews. BTW was quoted £120 + vat for rear discs and pads. 2 year service cost £214 incl brake fluid change. I have googled for this prob and I can't find much. Service guy said it was common? Surely if it is common, and with light useage, then the parts aren't up to standard?
