  1. 2001 Elegance 1.4 AUB runs much better on Fuchs Supersyn 5W40, has reduced oil consumption. Have kept breather system clean, needed cleaning of EGR outlet in bottom of throttle body last year due to fault code. Recently came up with EGR related fault, on close examination found wire just before connector on EGR valve was broken (white/green stripe i think, connects the EGR valve potentiometer to ECU) resoldered wire and protected with heatshrink sleeving, fault code cleared all fixed. Recently passed 76K still runs well, rattles like a modern deisel at cold start but soon gets quiet when warm. Regards Ian
  2. Very good service, replaced cambelt on our 2001 1.4 16V 100HP car was cleaned and bill was lower than origionally qouted. Staff where helpfull. Will use again. Ian
  3. My wife recently moved to England from Mississippi (and drives a Fabia here:thumbup: ) we both have extensive experience of the Deep South, the reaction from those locals in Alabama did look rather genuine too. I thought it was hillarious. Ian
  4. My wifes 1.4 16V Fabia did this lights flickering while turning steering thing, then the PAS warning lamp came on ...Vag Com showed code for steering sensor fault, replaced Yaw angle sensor.... awkward job re-routing the wiring ....problem fixed. If you feel brave replacing sensor yourself :- eBay.co.uk: SKODA FABIA POWER STEERING YAW ANGLE SENSOR (item 120078063097 end time 31-Jan-07 20:56:52 GMT) Best Regards Ian
  5. Hi, I am an ex-Skoda driver ( 1994 Favorit Blackline, 2000 Fabia 1.4 8v ) currently driving a 2005 Fiat Panda, as my wife is now living in UK having moved last year from Mississippi USA I decided to find her a resonable pre-owned Fabia. Her wish list included remote locking, electric windows and being from USA must have Aircon...lol. We found a resonable 2001 1.4 16V Elegance via e-bay at a good price, just needed a couple of tyres, a GOOD clean inside and a service. She is very pleased with the car (her last car was a Geo Tracker....that is a Canadian built 2 wheel drive Suzuki Vitara) only problem now is that I cant stop "borrowing" the car...lol. Only minor problems so far are occasional PAS warning light ( steering angle sensor) and VAG-COM says that it can't communicate with the Alarm Horn...does any one know where the Alarm Horn/Sounder is on a Furby?
