  1. Yes definitely all new cars have to be from September 2014. Check the spec sheet on the website. I think the vrs is still euro 5 though but I could be wrong about that.
  2. Yep this is the first diesel car I'll ever have 'owned' and the first with less than 200bhp so it's going to be an interesting experience. At least the scout is euro 6 so I'm not adding to the horrendous state of air pollution as I would have on the older engine. I'm a cyclist so I've always hated the dirge filthy spew, euro 6 is a welcome addition.
  3. I took my golf r on track after 600 miles. Always warm it up and then go for it. I think the notion of running in has long since ceased to be relevant.
  4. Thanks for that, I'll stay the course! Good to be different to all black. My second car I've ordered without sitting in or driving. Probably not normal behaviour but if there's a fan club here I figure they must be alright!
  5. Guys I may have taken leave of my senses but I've ordered with the brown interior. Am I going to deeply regret this decision?! Any pics of it in the flesh so to speak? Cheers
  6. Hi all. Just to add I've gone for the 5k freedom deal as its simply easier to lease than buy and have finance over the whole car. The upfront is hefty but the monthlies are then a ridiculous 84 so it's 180pm then add the excess mileage. Seemed the cheapest way imaginable into a practical estate. Bit slower than my current ride (e39 m5) and it will be strange not being so familiar with my shell garage but I'm still looking forward to embracing the Skoda revolution!
  7. Hi all, I'm joining up as I've got my eye on the octavia vrs as the perfect family transport...just got out of a bmw z4m which I'll miss as it was damn cool but more excitingly I'm going to be a dad for the first time in December so that's the new priority. Need something that can carry the wee one, plus crap, plus my surfboard so the octavia estate looks like a winner. I've yet to test drive one but I'm hoping it delivers a decent steer at a reasonable lick without the massive space penalty of my old motor! I think with a 2007 era estate should look pretty sharp once I've sorted the wheels and lowered the ride height to something more pleasing. Bit more about me: 31, live in west london, work there too (marketing) but need to travel with work hence a car is needed. Like cars (with some light mods), making a decent meal, real beer and running. Cheers Tim
