Hi,
I have a Skoda Fabia 1.2 petrol. 07 reg, 80,000 miles. For ages now, I have had intermittent problems.
The Exhaust system light (engine symbol) comes on, and the car regularly becomes down on power, and often shudders.
This is often coupled with the EPC light coming on, and the engine cutting out completely.
I have read loads of different things about this. The one common point noted is that Skoda dealers are very bad at giving a correct diagnosis.
From what I read, there could be problems with:
- Break plungers and sensors
- EGR Valve clogged up
- pressure sensors
Does anyone know what it is most likely to be? Where would be the best place to start? Who should I take the car to (as i am reluctant to take it to a Skoda dealer)? (i have been told that VW dealers are generally better, but would an independent garage be better/cheaper?
Cheers,
Dan
