  1. I had a scary one from UPS. I had a load of deliveries over a couple of weeks all coming via UPS. Then my mum text me to say she'd had a message on the old mobile phone at her house (a phone number I used for about a year between ages 15 and 16 ish, then gave to her, but that even she hasn't used for about 6 years or more). She said she assumed it was a scam, and the text was from 'UPS' about a parcel containing an iPhone (which obviously I knew I hadn't ordered - plus how would UPS know what was in the package?) but it had my name in the text and my current mobile number!! :'( where does this info come from?! And how had they linked those two phone numbers to me?! It was just so weird. What do you do for a living? I'd be so interested in the scams they come up with!
  2. Yes, I believe he is a tiler (one who now just takes on the jobs he wants to). The floor is very uneven where an extension has been built, so there will be some work required with the levelling etc and obviously some of the cost is materials too. I just don't know anything about it haha! Thanks for the input!
  3. Well hello Briskoda. It's been a while! I have a random question and thought where better to air it than amongst this pool of people right here! No idea how many people actually still post here but I'll try anyway :) So, I need some tiling doing, I had a quote from a friend's stepdad and as I have literally no idea how tiling works, I wanted to just see if it's around the right ball park. I will also try to get some other quotes, but that would take more time so for now just as a guess it would be handy to know! The area has been measured as 32sqm (kitchen, backroom, utility and toilet) and price includes "preparation, levelling boarding, levelling compound, flexible adhesive and grout, plus a chrome trim for tile skirting, removal and replacement of toilet and sink in order to tile under them" that's come to £1950. I have no idea how much the materials are so I cant even guess as to what it should be! If it's a good/reasonable price them I'm happy. I just have no idea if it is! Thanks anyone who can advise! :D
  4. I had a similar problem once. I clicked a link on facebook that had a recipe on it. It then started a "sign up" process and ended up saying you'd be signing up to a subscription of £4.50 a week. So I didn't complete the registration, and just clicked "back" to go back to facebook. Next thing I know I had a text saying I'd been charged £4.50 for this subscription, despite not agreeing to it, or clicking confirm, or going through their 'sign up' procedure. I cancelled the sub, but it had still taken money from me, which p***ed me off. I contacted Three and asked why they'd allowed someone to take £4.50 from me without my consent. They said that basically your phone bill is effectively a credit card, and people can charge whatever they like to it! I expressed my dissatisfaction to them, and they were really good with helping me solve it. They contacted the company who took the money on my behalf and tried to get it back for me. It took ages, and eventually Three even paid it back to me themselves. On top of that, the company did eventually pay it me back. On the back of that, I told Three to cap my bill so that no one can ever charge me anything. It actually suits me fine as I don't want to accidentally ring premium rate numbers etc anyway. I didn't know until then, which was a few years ago, that things can be charged to your phone bill so easily, and that there's next to no regulation for it.
  5. Well I ordered a low class of card but unfortunately I can't find that exact card as it was so long ago and no longer have the packaging lol. So I've no idea. I did get it to record on an old crappy card but then when I did the same thing again it gave an error..... so I just don't know....
  6. Holy Thread Revival Batman....... Sorry guys... !! Only just got this cam in my car (yes, I know....) I got the £20 thing off the internet which was discussed in this thread. Couple of questions if any of you are still around to answer them? 1. How do you make it start to record without having to press a button (I wanted one that would just start up as soon as the ignition came on) 2. How come no file has actually saved to the SD card? I have a 32GB Samsung card. Does it need formatting a certain way? It created a DCIM folder, so it knows the card is there. However it hasn't recorded anything.... or do I need to press more than one button? :\
  7. In each case - yes, it is one person. Please tell me again how it doesn't involve the person who administers the dose? Actually, don't bother lol
  8. As above - I've seen people suffer too. I totally get the idea. All I'm stating are facts. And any time I come to think about it, I can see why the legal issues are greater (in the scheme of the country and future outcomes) than the one poor person sat in front of the judges. That is all.

  10. I upgraded to iPhone 7plus in September. Again, can't really fault the camera for a phone with a tiny little lens and tiny little sensor. The dual lens thing is actually more useful than you'd think too. I use the optical zoom function a LOT. This is especially nice as I'd never dream of using the usual digital zoom (on any camera let alone a phone), as it is just so terrible! So without the dual lenses I have a zoomless camera! some shots from the 7plus Look of love by Lorraine Bullar, on Flickr full night shot, from a distance, using the optical zoom Cityscape from the Thames by Lorraine Bullar, on Flickr technically quite a low light shot, as this was sunset Westminster Abbey at sundown by Lorraine Bullar, on Flickr another low-light one from work The Drum - HMRC/Treasury by Lorraine Bullar, on Flickr Hadn't intended to show all low light ones lol. Maybe I should pick some others?!
  11. As mentioned, it's no longer illegal to kill yourself. Even most life insurance policies will pay out for suicide these days. When you're asking about another person causing the death - that's the whole reason for the massive grey area and opens up a multitude of risks. And fwiw it does fit the legal definition of murder - to kill another person with the intention of killing or causing GBH.
  12. Yep, done the factory 3 times on various brisky trips!
  13. Hahaha! Mil though..... renowned for this sort of post :) he still on here! I think I have him on Facebook somewhere
  14. Of course it is! It very much involves people who will still be living, not least the doctor who administers the dose. Stop being so blinded by compassion. I've watched people I love die horribly. I'm simply highlighting WHY this has not been legalised. I'm not stating opinion or my own views/wishes/desires. So far what I have said is backed up by what has happened in court so far. I doubt this person will get a different result if I'm honest.
