Update - user error. The emergency key is working. Just not the remote.

First of all both remote keys stopped unlocking the car. I changed the battery in one but it still didn’t work. The emergency key unlocked the car and it started when I put the key in the cup holder. It then locked with the key. Now it won’t unlock at all. Anything I can try before getting Skoda Assist out?

Has anyone had a sunroof service carried out by a main dealer? I am conscious that the panoramic sunroof may cause problems in the future and so was wondering if this might either prevent problems or at least if they occur, give me a bargaining chip with Skoda to demonstrate that it had been correctly looked after. Or should I just spend the money and worry about the leak it when it happens!

Lightcliffe in Warrington. To be honest, I can’t see anything in that warranty document about a replacement car but Skoda Assist did say that one would be supplied.

I’m gob smacked. Following on from here , My car was seen to by roadside assist. I was told it would be booked in to the local dealer on Monday. They would call me to arrange the repair and supply of a replacement car. I waited for their call all morning. I tried calling them with no answer. I eventually gave up and drove to them this afternoon. Only to be told that they could not see me till September and refused to help any further and go elsewhere! I’m currently waiting for a Skoda UK to advise on what to do next. I had a BMW before my latest vRS and the customer service experience with them was in a different league!! I’ll calm down soon.

I’ve got a water leak. I don’t think it’s a big one but I am loosing coolant. Roadside assist have been out to ensure that I can get into the dealers (a wait till September otherwise). Anyone had this, any repeat offenders as to which bit leaks?

I’ve booked it in with a dealer for investigation. The earliest they can fit me in? Friday 5th July. I hope if I ever have a serious issue they could squeeze me in a bit earlier!

Mine is doing the pop-pop SOS fail thing now. How do I check to see what version of software I am running?

I’m sure this must have been addressed on here already! I’m amazed that given that all the other trim on a vRS is gloss black, that the exhaust trims are chrome. Is there an off the shelf replacement? Or has anyone painted them successfully? Thanks in advance!

Still learning the foibles of my new vRS that I collected on Friday. One is trying to get media files on my phone to play randomly. I select random and it plays the tracks randomly but as soon as I skip a track it reverts to playing the tracks in alphabetical order. It works perfectly in apple carplay mode. Any ideas? Also, I need to double tap the main beam lever forward twice to get main beam on. Is this normal?

Thanks all. I had the DCC option on my last Octavia (vRS 245) and just left it in sport mode all the time! The car I’m looking at also has a sunroof and that is the main draw to it!!

I’m looking at a year old vRS tomorrow that has the DCC option. Are there any stories of problems in the medium term regarding the dampers used? I’m looking to keep the car for a while so I’m just doing some research.

Potentially looking to buy my 5th vRS in the next few months, second hand. I am wanting an estate in case we buy a dog in the near future but I was wondering if a hatchback would fit the bill to broaden my choice of cars. When I say dog it would be German shepherd sized.
