  1. Additional admin and handling costs, I suppose? Similar to restocking charge for returned goods? Some will, some might, some just won't.
  2. He's one of many in his opinion of the Yeti, but his position makes it one of note. Going off at a tangent, I've now had this Yeti longer than my previous non-Yeti (an 'original' X-Trail). The two Yetis together, at just over 11 years, now hold the ownership record over my beloved Volvo 240 Estate (quarter of a century ago) at nearly ten. Be safe!
  3. Good ol' Trago Mills 😄 PS Just seen this: "...I admit to being a little bit fearful of the DSG failing as I realise a repair could be horrendous so I continue to treat it with utmost caution and just live in hope...." I'm beginning to think that my Yeti just might be my last car (and currently at around 43K). The thought struck me that, on that basis, the possible cost of a DSG problem (horrendous, as you say), even plus a few other bits, is still less that of 'downgrading' to a newer non-Yeti. Happy bunny!
  4. Did anyone who watched the video go on to the comments? One of our Briskoda Yeti pioneers posted a 'memory lane' reply - I'm not naming him, but other people from way back will spot it. Yeti drivers used to wave to each other in those days!
  5. Actually, only ten got the OK, and Paul52 was the lucky last one before the gate shut. We think it likely that two of the ten didn't take their orders. Expatman was the second, thus forming the UK16"SpecialBuildClub with The Plumber, who was the first to get 16" wheels ex-works. If anyone's interested in the story (really?!), go to https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/255522-uk-16-special-build-club-membership-closed/

    MPG

Just to throw in some of my own figures, probably as a back-marker. With a 63 plate 1.2 Yeti on 42K miles (an easy life), on 16" wheels thanks to Expatman's pioneering example, my figures for 2022 were 36.9mpg over, unusually. only 3,500 miles. Most of these were over poor local lanes and with only a handful of journeys of 200-plus miles. I'm always happy to see 40+ showing during the rare motorway run (at or around 70 where reasonable) but pure economy can't be a big factor for me personally. Over rather a lot of years driving, under quite different circumstances I've seen the extremes of a 75mpg Trojan and an 18mpg 110 Landie. Perhaps just keep an eye open for deterioriting consumption but do remember that your own driving style, routes, vehicle condition etc are rarely the same as another's. Be happy you're driving a Yeti!
  7. Well, hello G ! What a nice surprise to see you back....it's been a few years, hasn't it? I guess it's now a big majority of the 'old gang' who've moved on, many of them more or less reluctant to part with their Yetis - and you'll see the number of posts concerning the sad lack of a worthy up-to-date alternative. Given the age of the last Yetis, though, there are few members who return to the fold. It looks as if you've found a real bargain with your '17 L&K 1.4, even if it IS green 🙂! I hope all goes well.
  8. Happy to reassure you, Graham. Companion since 2012...
  9. No excuse necessary - that looks like a very commendable freehand sketch 👍
  10. Bossfox indeed. Ah, those were the days!
  11. Just wandering around the North Cape of Norway (as you do) via Google Street View..... https://www.google.com/maps/@70.9766757,25.7912167,3a,75y,264.05h,88.67t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sPEQkRScmgnZdw0QAhkBrRQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 Is this the furthest-north Yeti pic? Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to you all 🥂
