  1. I like you traded in my Skoda Karoq Edition model, and since I bought and fitted new mud flaps on this 2 1/2 year old vehicle, I removed them and have since fitted them on my new Skoda Karoq Sportsline model and they fit perfectly.

    Battery Issue

I had a similar problem with a flat battery after three or four days of no use, I ended up putting a small solar panel on the inside of the windscreen and plugging it into the 12v accessory socket in the wireless charging area, needless to say I always disconnect and remove it before driving... but it does it's job and starts every time....
  3. Ok previously my Samsung Galaxy S8 didn't charge but I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the wireless charging worked well, but last week I got a message saying remove foreign object from wireless drawer, but after checking there was nothing else in the drawer or the area... Now when I put the Note 9 in it does not charge or recognise the phone in the drawer, I was wondering if I did a battery reset if this would clear the fault, and may try this at the weekend. But I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or had any suggestions to check before booking it in for repair? Regards RodM
  4. Yeah just noticed mine says 26 days till oil and filter service check due... so I'll be contacting them on Monday to arrange something....
  5. Recieved a call from my Skoda dealership today to notify me that my Karoq Edition was due its 1st service, and asked what day would be suitable after 5th May? I said "any day just let me know when it would suit and I'd bring it in the day before and collect it at the close of the day..." So the receptionist said she would call me back later with the time and date... After 15 mins she called me back again and asked me "what the mileage was ?" I resported " Oh about 4500 miles" To which the reply came as a shock... Oh well she said "your vehicle doesn't require a service till it's done over 10,000 miles, so you'll have to wait till next year" My main question is surely an oil change and filter change is required and also connecting it up to the computer to check for software updates.... I look forward to any updates, on whether I should just accept their recommendations on waiting another year or insisting they do a proper service on the vehicle... RodM
  6. Thanks Emma. Much appreciated, but sadly the saga still goes on as I turned up for my windscreen replacement this morning at the pre arranged appointment 08.00. After the vehicle was taken in by the Autoglass engineer, he called me in to the repair bay to show me the damage to the new windscreen heater ribbon cables at the bottom of the screen.. to say I was slightly disappointed, as I'll have to make another appointment next weekend, so hopefully the next windscreen is in a better condition... ☹
  7. The plot thickens I called my Skoda dealer in Hamilton Scotland on Monday. They told me they would have to speak to the dealships branch manager... (I would have thought it would have been the senior Mechanic in the service bay)... anyway I was told that allegedly "The Windscreen camera does not required calibration and there is no need to book the car in after the windscreen is replaced". So will just have to ensure that Autoglass do not disable the camera after they fit the new windscreen on Saturday.
  8. Direct line insurance. Ive been with them for years, but feel that this is out of order, my windscreen isn't booked in to be replaced till next Saturday so I have time to get some research, I am also going to contact the dealer to see what the cost is, so will keep you posted..
  9. Sadly my windscreen developed a crack yesterday it was only an inch in on the passenger's side, so I didn't see it as urgent till ending my journey home tonight when I noticed it had extended to 3 inches wide. I called my insurance company tonight to be told that they felt with Autoglass and it would be booked in for repair next week, only one problem was that the camera that is an integral part of the Edition for the various modes (lane detection, ACC, Speed detection, etc.) This would not be connected after the windscreen is fitted as it has to be calibrated, and this is not part of the fitting service, so I have been informed that I have to book it into the Skoda dealership to get it calibrated, and this will be a chargeable repair that I have to pay, needless to say I'm not a happy chap... surely if I'm paying for an insurance and they cover the car for all forms of accidents and windscreen replacements, I shouldn't have to pay for the windscreen companies inability to complete a repair or should they have suggested that I took the car to my local dealer who would then do the whole job...?
  10. Why would you want to take the feed directly off the battery? when you can access the internal fuse box on the passengers side and utilize one of the unused positions or use a fuse adaptor from one of the many ignition switched sources available..
  11. Yeah after powering up the car this morning it didn't show the England North, Ireland as an option, and I checked on a new road that was not on the previous mapping and it has been added to the mapping software. So I downloaded the England South as a test, sadly the software doesn't tell you it is completed and updating, so you have to leave it on the update mapping for a few mins after it the green bar travelled to the right hand side of the display, ( Do not cancel) when you turn the car off and power up again it says " Updating" and will show a percentage up to 100%. Then when you go back into update screen it should not show theitem you want as available.. Hope this helps..
  12. Hi RichardPB I also today tried to update the "England North, Ireland update" unsuccessfully. I downloaded it through my 4g o2 service provider it downloaded the Technical package twice then I watched it's progress as the green bar slowly scrolled across the screen, but at the end it seemed to just sit doing nothing further, and not providing any clue as to anything happening, I gave up after 1 and a half hours ... will try again later today and update if successful..
  13. This stylish modification may also assist with preventing or reducing the mud ingress to the rear doors passed the rubber seals, that has been reported by other owners. I personaly am very interested as they look to tidy up what I see is an unfinished area on the underside of the car that can be seen when you sit outside the vehicle... Thanks. Oh I've posted the link if anyone else is interested... https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32858020634.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&productId=32858020634&productSubject=New-Arrival-running-board-side-step-side-bar-foot-bar-Pedal-for-SKODA-KAROQ-2017-2018&spm=2114.search0104.8.21.eb272c4aAn2zWg&priceBeautifyAB=0
  14. Aye I also went with the majority and utilised the rear wiper fuse with a piggyback fuse converter from Halfords, but I made the foolish mistake of removing the side panel completely for easy access, this involved disconnecting the "Airbag switch" when the completed job was finished it then came up with a "Airbag Warning light" after connecting my OBDeleven I easily reset the warning indicator. but please note to everyone don't disconnect the Airbag switch or you may have to get it reset by the dealership, and this could result in embarrassing compromising the warranty questions with the dealership afterwards.
  15. So seeing it in white every week, does it make you feel you made the correct colour choice? Lol
