  1. So in my quest to fix the complete lack of heating in my car and a slight coolant leak, i found that the EGR cooler was leaking coolant so this was bypassed by joining the hoses together and appears to have cured the leak. Does this effect anything, can it be left off/as is Also whilst running the car up to temp the heater matrix got very hot, but im still not getting and heat out of any of the vents despite changing the temp/flaps to various settings (flaps sound liekk they are moving) i also done a reset of the climate control unit, still no heat any ideas of help would be apricated appricated
  2. Hi all i have a Mk2 1.9 TDI 2058 with a slight coolant leak and no heat coming from the heater, the fan/ flaps all work and have been reset but still makes no difference so im going to replace the heater matrix. I know it can be a big job but seen a video where a guy replaced his without taking all the dash out, but any pointers anyone can give would be apricated. Also how much coolant will i need to refill the system. Many thanks
  3. Hi all, haven't posted for a while as the skodas been going strong but... Got an issue with the heating that I can't find the answer to either on here or Google. So my heater pretty much blows cold air all the time regardless of any settings /temperature selected, then all of a sudden it blows warm air for a few minutes then goes back to cold. The carpets are dry, thermostat changed and my mechanic cant find any leaks, I've reset the flaps, and done a code read which is below 2008 1.9 superb Any help will be greatly appreciated Many thanks
  4. I'm going to check the level this morning and see. The oil is fine ,no water present No apparent leaks He even wondered if the head gasket had gone and the water was seaping into the bores, It's a manual so no cooler
  5. Thanks, my mates had it, no visible signs of any water leaks anywhere, he's had it running for 3hrs ,no leaks, Pressure tested it ,fine,so took it back all was good ,then the engine temp light came on ,water dropped to min in the expansion tank. stated it back up, light gone out. So went out for a drive and all's good ,seems very strange
  6. I top it up everyday and look around the engine bay and can't see anything obvious,(that should be with the amount of water) and my mates put it up on the ramp today and he couldn't see anything, but he's going to run it up tomorrow and see if that proves anything
  7. Hi , Got an issue with my 2008 1.9tdi superb, Basically it's drinking water like it's going out of fashion, probably 1-2ltrs a day, no wet patches underneath when parked up My mechanic mate has looked over it today and nothing appears wet, either top or bottom of the engine.no clear leaks . The carpets inside are bone dry too. Oil hasn't got any water in it The heater has never been great but when it's cold the heater blows cold no matter what you do to the controls, when the air temp risers the heater works better. I've read it could be the water pump ,does that sound right for me Tia๐Ÿ‘
  8. My mate thinks it's the master cylinder so he going to replace if next week ,I shall let you know
  9. hi all , haven't been on here for a while , as sold the Skoda but brought another one just over a yr ago and whilst the clutch wasn't brilliant it was ok, so all's been well until Wednesday night. went out, parked up got back in about 30 mins later , pulled out of a car park and the clutch pedal just hit the floor. absolutely nothing, i was in second gear trying to nurse the car home and just thought i would put my foot under the pedal and pull it forwards, clutch came back, better than its ever been and worked the 4miles home via roundabouts /main junctions it going to my mates garage next week for him to look at but though i would ask before hand anyone had this before ? any pointers would be great many thanks
  10. oh, i forgot to say that they were fine before hand
