  1. 8L Tdi 130 Quattro Sport, mapped to 180 and loads of mods, bilsteins, changed the ARBs, forge rear adjustable tie bars, vented discs, Bose sound and uprated navi stuff, ... best car ever and it did handle well. I would have it back in a heartbeat. Have a look around teh AudiSport forum. Some very knowledgeable people on there. Not quite an S3 but not too far away... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VERY-RARE-2002-52-LOW-MILEAGE-ONE-OWNER-AUDI-A3-TDI-130-QUATTRO-SPORT-/390532315652?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item5aed8a3a04
  2. I'm with Avalon on this if saving cash is the aim... except thet I would have made the word "Stop", bigger, capitals and bright red with an exclaimation mark.
  3. Just put the winter wheels/tyres on the VW T5 ready for the trip north of Inverness next weekend. Wouldn't contemplate driving up there without them. Its a bit of cost but I can't see how you loose. I save running the usual tyres for three months for the expense of a set of steeles from ebay and £25 a corner for the tyres. Win ! Anyone else doing the "Puffer" 24hr mountain bike race too ? The winters will be on until March/April depending on the weather.
  4. Nice car... an older A3 1.9 Tdi Quattro Sport, mapped up to 180bhp and much modified was the best car I have ever had and I do regret parting with it... If only the Vrs had 4wd or the running gear of the A3 quattro...
  5. Nothing out of the ordinary, bit of white smoke, runs fine... two goes on the glowplugs and its perfect.
  6. Interesting, bet it took a bit of work to fit the rears, the front will be a matter of a set of plates to line up the holes. the rears from what I see on my seats will be a different bucket of haddock... Started to mock up the oak frame for my seats with mdf... more to follow..
  7. Mmmmm. Maybe a job for the weekend then. Guy I bought them from is from Prague and takes a high top transit over twice a year and brings a load of Skoda stuff back. His garage was an alladdins cave, engines, seats, lights, wheels and more. I put in an order for some Furby Mk II interior in black or leather.... lets see what happens after his January trip.
  8. Yep, I know they wont fit a Fabia (or would they...). Taken out of police Octy Vrs estates which are used as dog handlers cars. Got the whle lot, backs, seat bases, the filler edges... Just need a wipe down. The plan is to make a nice oak frame for them and use them as settee's.... Top Gear style... they even have a little drinks cabinet between the seats. Shame they arn't heated.... Will keep you posted.
  9. Thanks folks for your patience, I know these questions come around a lot.... low cost fix on that one fortunately. . Rick
  10. Apologies for this folks but I have tried the manual, the online download Skoda stuff and a search... no joy... VRS 1.9 54 plate. I have a flashing red symbol between the green headlight on and blue main beam symbol. Its a red symbol and comes on sporadically, I cant see what shape it is either as its not on for long enough. It doesn't come on with the ignition, its not he yellow steering symbol in the rev counter which goes off when the car is running... Airbag light ? Low brake fluid ? If I knew what it was I could sort it ! Thanks and feel free to point me to a page in the manual and hurl abuse... Rick
  11. Think mine was about £250 inc airbag.... and unlike a few other mods, I appreciate it every time I drive my van...
  12. Got a fbsw in my T5, wouldnt be surpised if these fitted the Furby too
  13. Bit of T Cut and most of that will buff out..... But seriously, sad for the car but very pleased that you have come away from that relatively ok....
  14. Matt, checked the V5 and the engine number has ASZ before the number.. guess this is it.
