  1. Hi there. I would check the wiring loom between the drivers door and the a frame of the car for any split wires....if thats ok then I would check the resistance between the pos and neg pins on the motor itself....if theres Resistance then the motor is buggered
  2. Yea you do have to take the door panel off. There's a cover on the handle inside the car which comes off that shows a screw and there are screws around the perimeter of the panel.....I found this useful......https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=9261Urq2HYqv7AbVjYH4AQ&url=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D_OqGsdvjThk&cd=4&ved=0CDMQtwIwAw&usg=AFQjCNEBnJOR3r8DcFZXlYpiBHpDfcu5QQ
  3. Hi there. I had the exact same problem about a year ago. It was after I washed the car but was not water ingress related. What u need to do next is with the measuring blocks is wait until you know which door thinks is open. Me and the wife were driving around waiting lol. Which ever door it is I would recommend unplugging the electric window motor for that door. Skoda them selves told me this. The motors for the windows cause a fault. I replaced the motor in the summer and its been fine. Let me know how you get on
  4. Hi there, I was just reading though your post after discovering neither of my windows will open! I have checked the fuses and believe it is the window ecu as my VAG com software doesn't communicate with the doors when it used to. Tell me to mind my own business, was it an expensive repair at skoda?
  5. After 4 days of the window motor unplugged ive had no problems. My advice would be to download and install ross-tech lite (its free), buy a 16pin vag-usb cable off ebay for bout £5-6 to use the software to find out what door the car thinks is open. Once you have done that extract wires 7 and 8 from the lock plug connector. This is to check the micro switch in the lock is faulty. If it still thinks the door is open then unplug the window motor on that door. Im going to get a new motor in the summer. Good luck, hope you sort it!
  6. Sorry to hear they couldnt sort it for you. Been out in it twice today and its been fine. Both our cars are the same age and could possibly have the same batch of parts. At least your alarm wont be going off anymore! I will let you know at the end of the week how mine is.
  7. Hope you sort it out today m8. Skoda told me they had a couple of fabias in that had window motors replaced. Just been out in mine and not had the door symbol on, gonna take at least a week before im convinced. Im avoiding their £70ph labour charge for as long as I can!
  8. Ive just spoke to skoda who said that the motor for the electric window on the door can cause tjis problem. If you can pin point which door the car thinks is open then un plug the motor on the door. Im gonna try mine. I will let you know how I get on
  9. I have been having the same problems.... http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/258705-door-open-faultalarm-going-off/#entry3044088 have a read
  10. Hi guys thanks for the reply. The micro switches I believe are inside the lock unit, I havn't looked inside yet to swap them round. Good idea thow. When I open the door the interior light was coming on and off. Ive disconnected the microswitch and ross tech is still saying the door is open and closed. Weird
  11. Hi guys. I have read other posts about simular problems on here but now im stuck! I have a 2008 Fabia. The alarm started going off and showing a door open on the dash, even driving it would show the door open symbol and make a sound with the interior light on. After using ross tech I pin pointed it to be the contact switch on the passenger door. After some trial and error I found pins 7 and 8 would display the door open symbol when short, so I extracted the pins from the connector, taped the ends and plugged it all back together. I am still getting the same fault with the lock connector removed. Ross tech shows the passenger door to be opened. So my question is, could the wiring be damaged in the loom? Has anyone else had the same as me? Many thanks.
