  1. Hello forum members, After 4 years of owing a Skoda Octavia VRS I have decided to move on to pastures new and go into the 4x4 scene. Would to thank all those members who have given sound advice about problems I had Long may the forum go on and help all fellow Skoda owners Goodbye Captain Del
  2. Got the letter today! 2 out of 2, lol if only l was this lucky on the lottery Due MOT soon, be getting it done then wait out to see what drama's appear after the software update has been done?
  3. No idea? Did phone Shark, but Ben is out of the Country at the moment, shall bell him again next week!
  4. Have been on the Skoda website and there is a check box for the emissions! Found out I have been affected by this stealth software! Oh the fun, car has been stage one tuned (Shark) so no doubt Skoda will be anal about the tune and the software setup lol Dear ŠKODA customer, We regret to inform you that the Type EA 189 engine built into your vehicle with the Vehicle Identification you submitted, is affected by software that causes discrepancies in the values for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) during dynometer runs. Your car is safe from a technical standpoint and roadworthy. We are very sorry to have broken your trust and are working at full speed to find a technical solution. ŠKODA will cover the cost relating directly to this repair. We will be in touch with you directly to explain what steps are required. We'll do the necessary work at our cost and have you back on the road as quickly as possible. Yours faithfully, ŠKODA.
  5. Thanks for that, very good piece of information, best see if I can see any colours on the springs, and if not right it will be going back!
  6. Had a spring break on the rear drivers side of my 2009 FL Octavia VRS estate, however I have had it repaired, which I had too wait for springs as he said they were supposed to be factory lowered springs but it seems a bit high. Is there a correct ride height for the vehicle as the front suspension is 3 fingers high from tyre to bottom centre of the wheel arch but I can get a full clenched fist on tyre to bottom centre of wheel arch, and because it has been done have I seen another VRS estate to compare it against, seems as likely as winning the lottery! Thanks for any information regarding the above problem
  7. Hello Forum, Have Anti Hijacking enabled on my VRS estate, it locks the doors when I reach approximately 10MPH, can it be changed to a different speed or as soon as I place in gear and pull off as my partner has a Peugeot 307CC which locks as soon as the wheels move Thanks

Best get it booked in for service and cam belt and water pump change! Didn't see it in manual because was looking for picture of the circle with time? But now see what you mean on page 17 Thanks again!
  10. Hello Forum, Have noticed this light coming on when I first switch on the ignition, it is only on for about 2/3 seconds before it resumes normal display. It started off with the number 6.5 and now is down to 1 The warning seems to be a circle with a area, approx 1/4 shaded out but it started at 1/2 I have looked in the owners manual but there does not seem to be anything covering it? I am due for service in 2800 miles is this some thing to do with the above Thank you for your assistance
  11. I had my I phone 4 and 5 unlocked by 02 Link might help? http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref(User):str(Mobile),CASE=ref(unlockmymobile)
  12. 51 This is my second Skoda First one in 1984 Burnt Orange Estelle LS (fitted with heated rear window to keep your hands warm when pushing it lol) Only joking never let me down, £5 a week petrol and faster than my mates Ford Escort Mk 1 1300 GT but someone stole it and wrapped it around a bridge! Second January 2012 and am well happy with it so far!
  13. Have you got Netflix or similar, as l got stung over my allowance for watching them! So updated to infinity 2 and now no problem, and surprise was cheaper than before!
  14. To be honest have not tried messing with vents or anything, will give it a go next time l am out in the car
  15. Hello Forum, Not sure if this is normal for my Skoda, but have noticed that while l am driving even with the heaters on, there seems to be cold air coming in around the bottom of radio, top of centre tray not sure how long it has been doing it, but it is noticeable due to the change in the weather. I can feel it on my hand when changing gear, or place my hand there, it is not rushing through just like a draught? Might it be a rubber bung or something missing on the bulkhead? Thank you for any advice in solving this problem!
