However, got an email from the dealership a couple of weeks later stating as we ‘only’ gave the car a 4-star rating in the review they wouldn’t replace the seal as the review had ‘cost the dealership money’!

The dealership subsequently confirmed they were aware of the defect prior to releasing the car (would appear they hadn’t told the sales executive !) but as “this didn’t impact it’s ability to function correctly and created no other relating issues other than cosmetic “ they would not be replacing something such as this on a car of this age ! They also deemed this as ‘fair wear and tear’. !!

Anyone else heard of this on a five year old car ?

Also, sounds like they are trying to say it wasn’t related to a 4-star survey ! I wonder why…..

Had an invitation from them for a VIP event about three weeks ago (the event was last weekend)

The invitation said to reply via the internet which I did and I got a page telling me I had successfully registered and a VIP pack would be sent to me in the post and a time would be e-mailed to me.

I heard nothing. The Thursday before the event they phoned us up and said did you receive a VIP invitation and we explained we had done the registration on line - they said they had problems with the booking system, but not to worry they would post a pack that day and e-mail a time for Sunday. Nothing arrived either by post or e-mail. Sunday morning we called them and they said - very sorry but just come at 2pm and we will see you then.

We arrived at 2pm the girl on the door said your name isn't on the list - have a look round and I'll see if I can find someone to talk to you. 15 minutes later she came back to us and said give me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail a stock list to you - here is a contact card and basically showed us the door.

When I got home I phoned and asked to speak to the manager - who was apologetic, said he had a car in stock he thought would suit me and could I come straight back to chat to him. Having wasted nearly two hours and with other things to do I told him I could not do that and could I come in today. He agreed and said he had made me an appointment for 9:30am

He sent me an e-mail with details of the car he thought would suit me and said either he or his senior sales man Karl would be waiting for us on Saturday.

On Thursday I had an e-mail to say the car he was thinking of had been sold but not to worry because there were lots more in group stock, so still come in and have a chat.

I arrived 9:30 today and the girl on reception knew nothing about us having an appointment. She said the manager was busy with a customer and would go and fetch Karl.

Karl came and said he knew nothing about us and would check with the manager - he was quite rude to my wife at one point.

He returned and took us over another sales assistant to deal with us. At no point did the manager come and speak to us or apologise for double booking himself. We then had to go all the way through again what we were after and our details. This assistant was very pleasant - but we left feeling that they were not really interested in helping us upgrade our Skoda and that we were not at all important customers to them.

I have driven Skoda since 1986 and when the old fashioned dealers closed we moved to Progress. Our current main fabia came from them and both of cars are serviced and MOT'd by them so we are regular customers of them.

I am now seriously thinking of changing brand and looking for a dealer who does have respect and manners towards their customers and when they make an appointment will actually keep it.

My Superb 3 failed before christmas and was finally recovered there (literally the day before it officially opened). Unable to diagnose the fault (even with Skoda UK in attendance), the car was transported to their Maidstone branch. 

Local staff were very helpful and gave me progress updates when they said they would. 

It does seem very quite in the dealership...

My experiences at Colchester was always very good.

It's been awful with the guys at Clacton.

And if you do have issues be prepared that Skoda UK will side with the so called approved partner than the customer.

It's a shame as when I come to change my car in 2024 I will looking elsewhere.

How have folks taken to the change to Marshall Motor Group.......?

Me..     Can't seem to get along with them at all.... perhaps its that I just don't fit their ideal customer in that I am an aged old fart, own my car outright and expect that when I do phone (x4) or email that one might get the courtesy of a reply.

New cars - don't seem to be interested at all - Three times I have asked what the Kodiak is in the showroom as in diesel/petrol... price etc .... and each time I get a blank look...  incredible... know your product don't exist anymore....

Pricing - Just don't go by the Skoda pricing on their website.. Skoda £100 per hour to investigate... Marshalls £150.00 an hour...

...and don't expect any form of transportation... courtesy cars.. not even a lift...  not even an offer ... not even after spending £1,600 with them....

Hey ho...  perhaps it's time for a change of motor then....  the difference when we popped into the local KIA garage was amazing.... just cannot get billy bookcases or even the grandkids pushchair in the back... ah well...

See if they are any better tomorrow when I take it back to see if they can get the grease stain out of the beige leather...😡

Four weeks ago we went in - had a very positive experience and agreed to have a 15 plate Citigo.

Three weeks ago today we picked the car up - the staff were very nice and we felt pleased with the experience.

When we got home we found the car had neither an inflation system or a spare wheel at the back it also had the PID missing (the stalk was present)

We contacted them and they promised to look into it and get back to us - of course they didn't!

After many phone calls we were asked which we would prefer an inflation kit or spare wheel, we said the wheel and they promised to order one. No-body had asked about the PID

Several phone calls later the wheel had not been ordered - was promised would be straight away.

No call back from them as promised - now told on back order - very hard to get hold of - yet there are Skoda dealers selling the wheels on ebay!

Also noticed the DRLs were not working - thought maybe they had been switched off or the fuse removed. First time I drove in the dark side light didn't work. Both bulbs had gone and by the state of them had been gone for some time - yet the car passed it's first MOT just before we had it and sidelights have always been a part of the MOT and DRLs have been since May (where fitted).

Still waiting for them to get the wheel three weeks after having the car.

I wouldn't mind if they gave the impression that they cared - but they fob you off with a "we'll call you back" and they never do.

Would not recommend anyone looking for a used or new Skoda to deal with Progress Bedford.
