  1. Added small green stripe on top of black line on the side and wrapped center caps also in green
  2. FOR SALE – 73/100 Registered 1 March 2002 A rare opportunity to purchase one of the remaining 16 Octavia WRC 100 Edition cars left in the UK. 73/100 was fully restored by Des Jansen (delcac on here) during 2015/16/17. Des lived in Kent and he and Pete Drury who owned 66/100 decided to carry out a joint restoration of the two WRCs. Whatever was done to No 66 was also done to No 73 and Pete maintained a blog of the restoration of No 66 - see attached link: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/370561-wrc-66100-and-88100/ Back in 2016 the two cars were considered as the best WRCs in the country. Approximately £16,000 was spent on the restoration of No 73 turning it into an almost brand new Octavia WRC. All parts replaced were new genuine from Skoda. I purchased the car in May 2018 with the mileage on 113600 and it has been a privilege to own a piece of Skoda history. It still looks and drives like a new car. The only imperfection is a dent on the bonnet where I dropped a hammer! Link attached to the BriSkoda advert when I bought it as it shows lots of information and pictures of the restoration which paint the full picture: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/448221-mk1-octavia-wrc-limited-edition-no-73-of-100-for-sale/#comment-5040729 Total mileage now is 119,800 so I have only added 6200 miles since the restoration in 8 years. It is a well known car on the forums and I will be sad to see it go. Reason for the reluctant sale is the purchase of a Audi S2 Avant dressed up as an RS2 which is my dream car so 73/100 has to go. The cherished plate V100 WRC goes with the car as it makes the car unique. I also have lots of spares to go with the car including another Decal set from the original supplier to Skoda (about £1200 value). I have 2 folders of receipts and photos of the restoration including a very rare certificate of authenticity from Skoda. The original service history is included and I have maintained the car with annual oil changes added to the service book. The MOT is valid to March 2027. Photo taken at the MOT in March 2026. No advisories since the restoration! This is a rare opportunity for the buyer to own a piece of automotive history as these cars do not come onto the market very often. The car is located in South Wales, 25 minutes from Cardiff. I believe I have priced it fairly at £12,995 or very near offer. Passed MOT no advisories Mentioned to Skoda customer service that I had declined the rear drum clean as there was no way they would know without moving wheels which they hadn't .... Cheers Steve
  4. 2 points
I have no idea how they can judge that the drums need cleaning, without removing them to look inside. They will not have done this, unless you specifically asked them to, I would think. If they had looked, it's only 5 minutes more work to clean them out while they're in there! So I would recommend ignoring this dubious suggestion and letting the MOT decide if it's really required.
  5. A couple of jobs done today. Replaced the drivers door inner seal as the original one had worn from driver getting in and out. The second hand one I got from eBay had a little wear but hadn’t split so I just rotated it about 45 degrees so the wear was on the back edge where it won’t wear any more. Pretty simple fit, you just have to take a couple of trim pieces off. As I had already had some of the trim off and it was finally a sunny afternoon I thought I would tackle installing the black roof rails. Thanks to @Kosin for the install tips. Pretty much remove anything attached to headliner around the edges, all pillar trims and top boot trims. To remove the sun visors and handles you need the OEM/Laser long nose flat pliers at £60 to £30. Luckily Ali express to the rescue again with a cheap tool that does the job perfectly for £3 https://a.aliexpress.com/_EHRShvy To access the rear of the front pair of bolts you have to disconnect the plug from the curtain airbag igniter. Not too much bother with the battery disconnected and an appropriate wait time to make sure everything is powered down. Apart from when I had fully reinstalled the liner and trims and got an airbag error warning and realised I had forgotten to reconnect the passenger side! Doh! So that half all got disassembled again to reconnect it. Now all done everything back in its place and all fault codes cleared with no issue. All in about 3hrs work. It would have been 2.5 without my airbag mistake! So that’s the last of the dechrome jobs done and now full Sportline-ish exterior spec (apart from wheels and stance both of which are outside the budget for now!)

Passenger sun visor replaced with a driver's sun visor (UK) to avoid the airbag markings. Light switch replaced with a white version; this will be implemented throughout the entire vehicle. Red switches will be replaced with white. Fog light bezels replaced with gloss black ones. Frameless rearview mirror installed. Of course, a few projects remain: Replace front seatbelt buckles with illuminated ones; parts are on order. Replace grille with OEM Cupra black grille. Install side skirts. Install rear spoiler. Install OPS 360° with Park Assist. Parts are ready for installation. Retrofit seatbelt height adjustment; it's inconvenient. I'm quite surprised, especially as a previous Skoda driver... Yes, that's pretty much it. Maybe @Binx1310 or @JR RS or @Bap33 or @travs or other colleagues will stop by here. A few quick snapshots from the not-so-clean, tidy car.

Yeah the dealer obviously decided that having an odd front tyre would "probably be alright, if he says sumfing we've got others wanting to buy it". Been saving some dough to get 4 new shoes anyway, I'll just have to move up the old timetable after today's shenanigans. Was also considering ps4's And these Goodyear Eagle F1 "designed for VW etc". Had Eagle F1 on my focus st2 wagon about 10 years ago and they were pretty nice too. So much choice!
  9. Hello Everyone. I replaced the rear brake pads and disc on my 2018 Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 Tsi today and thought I'd share some insights. This car has the standard 300mm rear discs. The bake pads and discs were the originals, having covered 46,000 miles!! First thing to say is that replacing the rear bake discs is a heck of a lot easier than replacing the front discs, the reason being that you don't need to remove the caliper carrier. This was great news to me because if you google the procedure or ask ChatGPT it will tell you that you do need to remove the carrier and you don't!!! This is great news because to remove the caliper carrier requires you to undo two very tight bolts which are quite hard to access, requires a specific XZN bit socket (extra cost), and requires new bolts to be installed (more cost). I think the confusion happens because for a lot of other VW group vehicles you probably do need to remove the caliper carriers to get the discs out, but thankfully for the Kodiaq you don't. I found a video on youtube, in german, which shows the procedure. Thankfully I watched this before I started as it clearly shows the discs coming off without removing the caliper carrier. I couldn't find a english language video that shows the procedure on the Kodiaq. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/vdhvSYmhNgg?si=TDo4Q21_ueCNkaf7 The other complication is that this car has an electronic parking brake (EPB) fitted which you need to put into service mode before you can replace the rear pads/discs. I already had an OBD2 ELM327 Bluetooth reader so I downloaded Carista, paid for a month subscription (£19.99 which is a ripoff!), paired it up to my reader and used that to put the brake into service mode. You use need a cheap ELM327 reader (£10 on Amazon) and not an expensive Carista reader. I wont repeat the procedure as the video does that very well. Cost wise I spent: Two discs (£89.08 for both), Set of pads (£30.71), 1 month Carista subscription (£19.99). So £139.78 in total for parts.

Do you mean your right front tyre is different from the left front one, or do I get it wrong? I had a Superb Estate TDI190 4x4. Not a TSI280 for sure but similar max torque if I remember well. I put Michelin PS4, which are widely recognized as one of the best tyres for Superb Mk3. I think Continental SportContact5 (or newer generation) should be interesting alternative. Some go with Michelin PS4S but AFAIK, they make sense if you sometime have trackdays, otherwise PS4 will be efficient enough. Maybe TSI280 owners may have other suggestions.

I had Continental Contacts (all season) fitted to the Octavia earlier this year because I tired of swapping summers and winters - they seem pretty good to me. I was looking for good wet performance combined with reasonable cold-weather traction.

Thanks a lot for that, I figured (and certainly hoped) cheapo tyres admittedly a bit over inflated 😳 was probably the issue. Any recommendations from yourself or anyone else on what works well with the Superb? I've used Yokohama blu earth gt 235/40/19 on my AWD but tuned up Mundano for the last 5 or 6 years and have found them to be great all rounders
  13. This 2=page forum discussion (that began in April 2024 and concluded in November 2025) may be worth wading through.
  14. Had another check this afternoon.... nothing. So yes I agree... however we did have the good times for an additional three more years.

235/40/19s. Something called Arduzza Epoch Sport ES, except the driver's side front which is a continental premium contact 6.
  16. I agree. I understand now that the keys must be in the front but I never had a problem until now. And it should have been some kind of warning, instead of turning off the car comppletly without any sign or error. Very dangerous, it was.
  17. Was out and about all day yesterday and still nothing. It’s been a good few days now so a growing possibility INRIX has gone the same way as Trafficmaster. Will update if it does happen to come back on at some point though.
  18. The key was in the car; it doesn’t matter whether it was in the back seat. This is a bug, period—a bug that should never happen at this level. 😥
  19. ****Update**** finally have managed to get it working now thanx for the help 👍🏻

I can't think of a good easy way to find any or all the leak sites on a fridge system, yes if you are lucky you will find "damp" area(s) where the system oil has escaped along with some gas charge. After that it will be up to using a pumped sniffer and/or an acoustic sensor, then adding in some dye and pressure of Nitrogen. The system pressure sensors have always tended to end up leaking - or at least many do - and then there is the evaporator - having a leak in there would a bit annoying to sort out.
  21. The house is filled with speakers in my SONOS music system. Lossless format is essential to get the most out of it. All of my files are stored on my home server so makes sense just to copy the files I want from the server onto a usb stick and plug it in to the car… It took quite a while to rip all those cds but well worth it. All the original cds sit in my loft now gathering dust.
  22. All very well if you want to subscribe to streaming services but as the owner of 2000+ cds, all of which I converted to flac (for my own personal use) I can’t justify paying for the music all over again. All my favourite music is pre-mid eighties so not interested in any newer stuff other than a few exceptions. Every other car I’ve owned has managed the very simple task of playing back the music I choose in the order I choose so why can’t Skoda manage it on the mk4? My mk3 Superb had no problems with this..
  23. nice work @Binx1310 ! Im glad my tips helped a bit
  24. I wasn’t mentioned, but I’ll still comment. It looks pretty nice - the vRS seats in particular, are really cool! There’s a guy over here (EZMods) that does branded airbag warning label covers. You can have plain black, FR, vRS, R, GTI, S3, Cupra, Racingline, the lot. It’s obviously a bit late now, but for the future! I miss my Mk3 1.4 ACT Leon FR Tech - gone but never forgotten. I’ve never driven a 1.5 FR - only a 1.0 Mk4 FR and then a 1.5 Golf Mk8. Both were pretty underwhelming compared to my Mk3. I loved my Leon - for what it was, it drove really nicely. I seem to remember the engine and gearbox being really nice. Wishing you all the best - I’m obviously not sure exactly what you’re facing, but I too have an health condition that can only be managed, not cured. It’s nothing detrimental to my physical health, but has significantly changed the direction (and, from time to time, the quality) of my life. You can’t change the cards that you are dealt in life, you can only play your hand. Words to live by.
  25. Had three since 2007 and four for a while but all different... As per signature with the Civic being the fourth for a quite a while after I got the Swift...

The only droning I have in my Karoq is when I travel with the wife!
  27. Had a Play this morning and for me it appears to operate as a quick switch button between radio mode and media mode
  28. @omeromeryigit Thanks for the information you shared. I followed the steps in the post one by one, and in the end my volume increasing issue was fixed. I solved the problem by cleaning the unit that the service said had to be replaced completely.
  29. I set lane assist to last setting no problem mk 4.5 facelift
  30. I would find a good reputable Local garage to do your servicing & repairs. After all the 1.2 Lt engine is dead easy to work on. 😄 Its just a glorified golf really. 😀
  31. A couple of jobs done today. Replaced the drivers door inner seal as the original one had worn from driver getting in and out. 32. According to my information, the mentioned article number should be correct.
  33. The description of the windscreen for the provided VIN, of a car with heated windscreen is: "Heat insulating windshield". To me, that didn't sound like a convincing description of a heated windscreen, so I suggested that you might be able to confirm. PR code was 4GW. I have (paid) access to partslink24, but not always much knowledge about what I'm looking at.
  34. I have a 2024 2.0 tdi 4x4 l&k estate and my real world figures are almost exactly the same as gareth71 above. Have a few annoying software issues with the infotainment system doing things I don't want it to, and more severe issues with my third party towbar, but the 193 4x4 diesel engine is punchy and accelerates well when you need it to, and has performed flawlessly running up and down the A9 between inverness and Glasgow, in the almost 2 years I have owned it.
  35. Depends if there was any load on it when you measured that voltage. Open circuit voltage doesn't give much clue about what it does when there is a draw on it.
  36. After somewhat +/- 6 months of searching, finally got summer shoes for my swan Tyres are not what it should be, but will have to do for the time being
  37. Two months into ownership of my estate, I thought the virtual pedal would prove to be a gimmick. However, it has been genuinely useful on several occasions when approaching the car with my hands full. The tailgate has started to close on me once - but the beep gave me enough warning to save myself. I just figured it was my fault for having such big feet. Certainly not enough of an issue to prompt me to turning the function off.
  38. For this very reason, I've turned off the "virtual pedal" foot sensor which opens/closes the boot. Don't miss that particular function in the slightest, and can now lean into the boot without it trying to eat me.
