Spoken like a true Rochdalian..... Interestingly, they other side of the street successfully argued that junkies where shooting up in the alleyway behind their houses..........*ppooff* as if by magic loacked gates appear...... Funnily enough, We've lived here 20 years and not once ever seen any junkies in the alley, or evidence of them having been there....we asked for gates on our side then, as the "problem" would merely be moved a few feet away... the response? "no evidence to show that that is a requirement or that residents want it"....which was quite insultingly as it's our side of the road thats had burglaries from sheds and cars and had stolen mopeds torched in it (right outside the back door of the local thief - a late teen/mid twentyt smackhead son of a vicar!) I'm all for the cane/birch/custodial sentence/electrodes to the testicles, whatever it takes to re-educate the spotty snot-nosed irks some respect for other peoples property, or at least remove them from the gene pool. As long as it's done in law, but then licensed out to vigilante resident groups, just like the Government has done with speed camera's and "safety camera partnerships"...
