  1. I would personally do them in white pearl as it looks stunning with red bodywork in my opinion , there is a down side of cleanliness.

  6. Well I have collected my white Blackline and its awesome. The dealer gave me some cash for the BT issue (promised it has BT) as they are not allowed to change the navigation settings (sent them the link below). i can confirm that if you follow the link with VCDS the bluetooth function is enabled and integrates with the maxidot. All i need to do now is purchase the microphone and we are laughing. Works perfect phone and media streaming. http://www.remkoweijnen.nl/blog/2011/08/26/rns-315-enable-the-hidden-bluetooth-carkit/

  8. I don't think it was MS who made F1 boring, I think F1 was boring in those years. Those who were excellent drivers and had excellent teams could just exploit that. Rules changes and standards reduce the gap, but money can still out perform skills. Last year wasn't all that and despite this year not watching much, that I have watched has proved to be really interesting. I enforce my thoughts by looking at almost any other formula where cars can get close and move around each other. F1 needs to get the R back into Racing and not the F of the Following years. Jump onto youtube where you had D types wheel off and sliding around a corner, yes a deathly experience and serious loss of life, but go to far and you get what we basically looked forward to, an excuse for a 2 hour kip on the sofa every sunday. I can now stay awake through a whole race, because at times it is a race The crap driver or not, well I guess it's how high a level point of view you take. Hamilton might be a good driver, but personality wise bit of a wally imho, as such I rate other people higher as they as a whole give a better performance, on and off... what they have in manners though they may lack in that ruthless "do or do not do, there is no try" approach on circuit. Driving skill and that competitive spirit is always going to result in incidents, is it the driving or the competitive devil/personality at fault? All I know is they are all good drivers, have all (bar one) cut there teeth racing and winning, just get rid of the smug, too cool to talk ones and the sport would be a dam site more interesting for the avg interested viewer, I'm not a fan if we consider fanatical as it's source. YM2P. I'd love to see a charity race once a year here the drivers are mixed up, drop alonso and vettle in a hrt Might be expensive for whomever gets that one who has shares in carbon fibre... Pastor 'I love carbon fibre' Maldonado, is that pastor carbonarna? /gets coat.

  16. Bit of a story to start off. I wanted a cheap form of transport to mess around with during the "summer" months and be easy to work on should anything go wrong. I originally planned to get a road legal quad bike, very cheap to run, but the insurance premiums were very high, and well, they're not that safe! I moved onto looking at new road legal buggies such as quadzilla's joyners etc but again, insurance was through the roof and getting high quality product looked slim. Most had big issues and weren't cheap or easy to fix. That then led me to vw buggies. Classic cars, easy to work on and cheapish to run.. Looked like a winner and the researching began. A few months later and a lucky ebay win I ended up with my very first buggy! It was a non-runner. Required a decent amount of rebuilding to get working but its running sweet as a nut now Rust free (some surface rust but a quick wire brush will sort that) she was a bargain. It could do with a makeover paint and interior wise, but thats going to be saved for over winter when shes off the road and living in the garage. It's a 1962 Short Wheel Base with a 1584cc Type 3 engine, adjustable coil over rear suspension. So far I've been creating a "to do" list and a "want" list after roughly 60miles of owning the buggy. To Do: Fix indicator stalk, turns with wheel activating indicators when not needed DONE Fix Rev gauge (works on idle) Fix Oil Pressure gauge (works at ignition but intermittent failure while driving) Fix Fuel Gauge (Worked on first fill up, but stuck at just above red) New window wiper & blade for passenger side (Done) Address battery charging issue, seems like the dyno isn't charging the battery (Done) Convert side lights to T10, 501, W5W bulbs for LED's DONE Address potential tracking issues. Rear wheels look "off" Repaint engine bay tin ware and fan shroud Label all wiring and carry out repairs on worn or dodgie looking connections & general tidy up. De-Rust and paint drum brakes Pressed metal plates Rear Done CD player Done 12v Accessory port Done Exhaust baffles Done Oil Breather filter replacement instead of hose connecting to carb filter for neatness Want: Add single or twin "cooling fans" inside engine bay to cool while sitting in traffic New indicator stalk Re-Paint body Re-Paint wheels Re-wire New Seats (heated) New exhaust system, twin motorbike cans New dash layout with illuminated switches Alternator Conversion Front brake disc conversion Easy Access Jump lead connections "Blower Scoop" intake for twin carbs Strip gearbox, solve first gear niggle Strip carbs and set up on rolling road (DONE, but no rolling road) Convert all lights to LED or projectors. New type 3 oil intake thingy mabober Yellow distributor cap and leads This is still a work in progress so I'll post when things get done!

  17. As title I have for sale 2 x THS engine mounts for sale. These are 50% stiffer than the original mounts, but if they're like the THS dog bone mount then you won't feel any of the downsides of poly mounts like vibration, just the benefits of a tighter feel through the car. These are brand new and have never been fitted. One of the mounts has been slightly damaged as per pics below but I don't think this will affect performance at all. There retail for £155 plus postage I'm looking for £80 posted ONO. Sent from my phone, using my thumb.

  20. I ordered an SE connect just oover 2 weeks ago and it is in the country now and being PDI'd early next week. I ha an SE on an 11 plate already but saw the deal and the cost to change was so little I thouhght I would go for it. As the new Octavia is going to be bigger and I don't want anything bigger, and the Rapid has had some questionable reviews plus unlikely to have any deals for a while, thought I would stick with what I know! Hope to take delivery in Steel grey next week.

  24. What I believe is happening is that with all these oil threads going, even people whose consumption should be considered normal, think are having a problem because their car uses some and they would like it didn't use a drop at all. But that is totally wrong for this car imho. Not saying you should expect to top it up every week, but for a car whose User Manual states that you should check your oil level regularly and that even 500ml every 1000 kms are considered normal then you shouldn't be blown away If you find it's used some after 1-2K. I am not talking about situations that go from max to min in 500 miles, these are ridiculous and need to be taken back for repair/replacement but these ones are quite rare as we've seen here. And don't forget, it only takes 2-3 of these cases to start endless discussions, it doesn't need to be a big percentage of the actual owners. In the end, one will most probably start to look for a forum when he has a problem, not the other way round, so naturally all problems are highlighted to a great extent.

  25. Nothing's broken on ours, which is more than can be said for a MK IV golf. And that set up was pinched from where.... why do you think VW hired a large chunk of the team that did the MK I focus rear suspension? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a focus is an S3, but IMHO VAG don't deserve that build quality reputation. Nothing has had to be replaced outside of warranty on either ford, which is not the case for the Skodas or VWs. It's just been normal servicing and more miles have been put on the fords than the VAG cars.

  37. So the exact same driveline in a different body shell with gearing maybe a few % different (maybe exactly the same) will do the following: Never shift harshly. Never get the gear prediciton wrong and spend a few seconds sorting it out. Never hang in a gear higher or lower than your would manually select. Get better fuel economy than a manual. Never have issues which will cost money to fix. Would that be your position? I have no problem listing the positives and negatives of anything I own. It appears some can only list the positives and deny anything else could be possible.

  44. Just picked up mine from Jewsons Oxford. Only just driven it home and it is brilliant. I've been a ford man i did have a mk1 Fabia VRS but since had 2 Focus ST's. it is good to be back. Fantastic that the manual came with the maxi-dot but still can't get my head round fitting sat nav over bluetooth. I've only driven it 20miles and it is already bugging me.
